The GMA-7 news channel, GMA News TV, is returning after temporarily going off the air for two days.

Jessica Soho first announced in 24 Oras last March 19 that GMA News TV had to go off the air for a while because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Today, March 20, GMA-7 announced that GMA News TV will resume broadcasting tomorrow, March 21, with a temporary programming line-up.

GMA News TV will broadcast Dobol B Sa News TV, a television simulcast of the programs aired over GMA-7's radio station Super Radyo DZBB 594.

GMA News' Instagram account posted the schedule of GMA News TV starting March 21.

Dobol B Sa News TV will air from 6:00 a.m. to 6:15 p.m. every Saturday; 6:00 a.m. to 6:10 p.m. every Sunday; and 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. every Monday to Friday.

GMA News TV will also have a simulcast of GMA-7's flagship primetime newscast, 24 Oras, during its air time on the Kapuso network.

The Kapuso network also released a full advisory about its current setup in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The statement reads:

"GMA Network reaffirms its commitment to Serbisyong Totoo as it continues to deliver the latest news and information across all its platforms amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

"In compliance, however, with the government's Luzon-wide enhanced community quarantine and as part of the Network's ongoing measures to ensure the safety and well-being of its personnel, GMA is currently operating on a skeletal work force and has adapted special work arrangements, including work from home, for its employees. This is in addition to the earlier announced temporary suspension of production of all Network-produced entertainment programs.

"But the Network understands that during these times, reliable news and information is greatly needed by the public. As such, viewers could stay up-to-date by watching newscasts and other breaking news on GMA-7, which is now airing a new programming line-up. Beginning tomorrow, March 21, GMA News TV will air DZBB programs and simulcast GMA primetime newscast 24 Oras.

"Listeners can still tune in via Super Radyo DZBB 594khz, Barangay LS 97.1 and the rest of Radio GMA stations across the country. Netizens, on the other hand, will still be updated via GMA News Online together with the Network's official social media accounts.

"Maraming salamat sa inyong pag-unawa. Makakaasa kayong mananatiling buong puso para sa Pilipino ang inyong Kapuso Network."

GMA-7 started suspending production of all its entertainment programs last Saturday, March 14.

It continues to air fresh, pre-taped episodes of some of its programs, while its other drama shows have already been replaced with reruns of old TV shows.
