Aljur Abrenica and Ejay Falcon's afternoon series, Sandugo, aired its final episode on Friday, March 20, 2020.
The final episode showed how fraternal twins JC (Ejay) and Leo (Aljur) saved their mother Joan (Cherry Pie Picache) from the hands of their enemy, Ulysses (Gardo Versoza).
Ulysses kidnapped Joan and Leo's fiance, Grace (Elisse Joson) and kept them inside a yacht.
JC and Leo were successful in retrieving the loves of their life, and were able to trap Ulysses by locking him inside his own yacht planted with bombs.
However, Leo's life was put into danger after Ulysses fired gun shots at him before the yacht exploded.
They were able to rush Leo to a hospital, but he flatlined on the operating table.
After doctors declared Leo's time of death, JC approached his twin brother and cried out loud.
While JC was holding his brother's hand, Leo's heart suddenly started beating again.
The incident was similar to what happened when they were babies: JC was born dead, but when Leo touched his hand, JC's heart suddenly started beating.
After his recovery, Leo surrendered to the police after admitting that he is part of Ulysses' syndicate. Eventually, his wedding with Grace still pushed through.
JC, on the other hand, became an investigator and followed in the footsteps of his deceased father, Eugene (Ariel Rivera).
In the end, Leo was allowed to visit the grave of his father with JC and Joan, where they celebrated Eugene's birthday.
Eugene then showed up as a ghost, making his presence felt to the family that he left behind.
