ABS-CBN's noontime show, It's Showtime, did its first live no-contact episode today, March 26, 2020. In this episode, the hosts talked to each other via video call from the comfort of their homes.
Present at the first live no-contact episode were hosts Vice Ganda, Vhong Navarro, Karylle, Amy Perez, Ryan Bang, Jugs Jugueta, Teddy Corpuz, Jhong Hilario, and director Bobet Vidanes.
Host Anne Curtis, who is currently in Australia after giving birth to her daughter Dahlia, joined today's episode.
It is her first appearance in It's Showtime after taking a maternity leave from her hosting duties in December 2019.
Anne gave birth on March 2, 2020.
The It's Showtime live episode had its hosts dance to Vice Ganda's new song, "Corona Bye Bye Na." This paved the way for a dance contest for the madlang pipol, a.k.a. the It's Showtime's audience.
Before the hosts showed their dance moves, they first teased each other in their opening spiels.
Vice asked Anne: "Anne Curtis, nakagawa ka na ba ng video mo?"
Anne, in a slightly low voice, answered: "'Di pa, natutulog yung bata," referring to her newborn daughter Dahlia.
Amy told Anne: "Nak, namiss na namin yung bati mo sa madlang pipol, baka pwede mong batiin ng live!"
Anne, who was in the living room, glanced at Dahlia's room before shouting in a low tone: "Oh, yes miss na miss ko na rin talaga ang madlang pipol.
Jugs challenged Anne: "Sige, sumigaw ka nga diyan!"
Anne tried shouting out her signature greeting, but in a slightly lower tone: "What's up, my super fabulous, sexy, machong madlang pipol!"
Vhong, noticing Anne's wet hair, said:"Anne, ganyan ka pag dumarating sa Showtime, ha, basa buhok mo."
To which Anne answered, with a smile: "Basa buhok, bagong ligo, e! Alam kong mabubuko ako kung di ako maligo, e!"
Anne mentioned that Dahlia is sleeping, and that their family is currently in quarantine.
"Ayon, dito din kami, sa bahay lang kami, naka-quarantine din muna kami para safe na safe, iwas na rin."
This March 26 no-contact show is the first live episode of It's Showtime after ABS-CBN suspended its production of teleseryes and live entertainment programs on March 15, 2020.
It's Showtime has been airing replays of its past episodes since March 16, 2020.
On Monday, March 23, the show's normal run from 12:15 to 3:30 p.m. has been cut short to 2:30 p.m.
