Shaina Magdayao has been a loyal Kapamilya for nearly 24 years now.
At the age of seven, she started her career in ABS-CBN in 1997 as part of the prime-time series Mula sa Puso.
From then on, Shaina was groomed to become one of ABS-CBN’s dramatic actresses.
But it was GMA-7 that gave Shaina her first break on TV—the 1996 daytime series Lyra, her first title role at six years old.
She recalls in her recent PEP Exclusives interview, “I had one year with GMA and I will always be grateful with GMA kasi kung hindi dahil sa kanila wala ako dito.
“They trusted me agad, hindi ako dumaan sa auditions, wala, kasi they just offered Lyra to me at 6.
“Kaya nga lahat ito, parang fate, kumbaga sinubo sa akin, so I guess, dapat alagaan because it’s my world and it’s really part of my life.”
On the other hand, Shaina is also grateful to ABS-CBN for helping her become the actress that she is today.
This is also the reason why she remains loyal to the network that has been her home for 24 years.
“Gaya nga ng sabi ko, maraming tumulong sa akin all the way, and hindi ko ito parang ginapang lang mag-isa or ng family ko.
“Sobrang maraming tumulong sa akin, that’s why I’m very grateful.
“I started with GMA when I was six ‘tapos I transferred with ABS-CBN when I was seven.
“’Tapos tuluy-tuloy na and hanggang ngayon, andito pa rin.”
Shaina is currently part of ABS-CBN’s prime-time series FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, which airs on A2Z Channel 11 and Kapamilya Channel.
She also recently won a Best Supporting Actress award at the 2020 Metro Manila Film Festival.
