Piolo Pascual is set to make a teleserye comeback via TV5's prime-time series, Niña Niño.

This is based on a teaser released by CS Studios, Cignal, and Spring Films on September 23, 2021.

Piolo is set to play Charles, a mayor from another town coming to Sta. Ynez.

Sta. Ynez is the place Niña, played by Maja Salvador, and Niño, played by Noel Comia Jr., are currently residing in.

The teaser also shows the first meeting of Charles and Niña, and their scene hints at a possible romance between them.

Aside from joining the cast, Piolo is one of the producers of Niña Niño as one of the owners of Spring Films.

Maja took to Instagram to share her excitement about working with Piolo for the first time as a love interest.

She wrote, "Pangarap ko lang to! Salamat Papa P!!! Next Movie naman please"

Piolo and Maja worked once for a teleserye, the 2006 series Sa Piling Mo, where Piolo was paired with Judy Ann Santos while Maja played a supporting character.

The announcement of Piolo's inclusion in Niña Niño came a week after he renewed his contract with ABS-CBN on September 16.

As a Kapamilya, he is set to top-bill Flower of Evil with Lovi Poe.

Piolo had already finished a cycle of taping for Niña Niño when the contract signing happened.

TV5 is set to announce the date of Piolo's first appearance in Niña Niño.
