Mylene Dizon is happy to be back with ABS-CBN after two years of being with GMA-7.
Her current Kapamilya teleserye, Huwag Kang Mangamba, is about to wrap up its run after eight months of airing.
At the press conference on October 25, 2021, for Huwag Kang Mangamba finale, Mylene described her return to ABS-CBN as a coming home since this was where she started her career.
She said, “Parang kapag umuuwi ka sa bahay, I think there’s a certain comfort that you feel.
“Iyong parang natulog ka ulit sa sarili mong kama, naligo ka sa sarili mong banyo, comfortable. It’s warm.”
And in these times when work in showbiz is being affecetd by the pandemic, Mylene expressed her gratitude to ABS-CBN for including her in a project—and for the reason the network itself has its own trouble with the loss of its franchise.
The former Gimik star said, “Iyong pagbabalik sa panahon na nandito sa sitwasyong ito ang ABS, you’re just happy that we are all still working.
“Kahit papaano, we are trying our best na makagawa pa rin ng magagandang shows para maipakita sa ibang tao and to create stories na may magagandang message, hindi lang basta kuwento pero may message na mapupulot.
“Yes, very very thankful like everybody right now dahil kahit mahirap ay nakakapagtrabaho pa rin tayo.
“We just try to do our best kapag nagtatrabaho kasi alam namin na hindi madali ang sitwasyon, hindi madali ang working environment, but we try.”
Mylene was also thankful to be given the role of Eva, a broadcast journalist investigating the suspicious goings-on in the town of Hermoso.
It's a supporting role, a step down from her major role as one of the leads n her last teleserye Bilangin Ang Bituin Sa Langit.
But, as Mylene pointed out, “Kadalasan hindi naman namin hinahanap iyong pagiging bida, e.
“Ang importante sa amin ay kung ano ba iyong role at paano namin magagampanan nang mabuti, how to give it justice.
"I think that’s the main job description namin bilang artista.
“Ako naman, personally, hindi naman ako star. I’m in it for the craft.
“That makes me feel good that I’m able to represent it well, and I’m happy na pinapasalamatan niyo ako, that you appreciate the work guys that I did. Salamat din.”
Huwag Kang Mangamba, top-billed by Francine Diaz and Andrea Brillantes, will air its final episode on the Kapamilya channel on November 12.
Like all the other shows of ABS-CBN, it also airs on A2Z Channel 11 and TV5.
