TV5, GMA Pinoy TV, PTV4 programs nominated in 26th Asian TV Awards

TV5's Sing Galing and GMA Pinoy TV's Pinoy A+ : Filipino Stories for Kids are two of the programs nominated in the 26th Asian TV Awards.

Filipino TV programs and personalities are nominated in the 26th Asian Television Awards.

The nominees were announced on its official website on November 2, 2021.

Sing Galing is nominated for the Best Adaptation of an Existing Format category.

A co-production of TV5, CS Studios, and Cignal Entertainment, Sing Galing is the reincarnation of the singing reality-game show originally aired on TV5 under its former name ABC-5 from 1998 to 2005.

TV5 also scored a nomination in the Best Talk Show category with Luchi Cruz Valdes’s defunct talk show, Usapang Real Life, which aired from August to November 2020.

Most of the nominees in the news category were from CNN Philippines and the government-owned TV station PTV4.

GMA-7 scored one nomination in the Best 2D Animated Programme category for the show called Pinoy A+: Filipino Stories for Kids aired on GMA Pinoy TV.

Meanwhile, Martin Andanar of PTV4 and Rico Hizon of CNN Philippines were both nominated for the Best News Presenter/Anchor award.

The winners will be announced on December 10 and 11, 2021.

According to the website, TV5 and Cignal Entertainment are the broadcast partners in the Philippines. The awards night will also be streamed live on Facebook, and dedicated live interviews will be available exclusively on Facebook Watch.

Best News Programme: The Final Word with Rico Hizon (Nine Media Corporation, CNN Philippines)

Best Current Affairs Programme: Laging Handa Dokyu (Presidential Communications Operations Office, PTV4)

Best Infotainment Programme: Physical Education Grade 9 (Ei2Tech Inc, DepEd TV)

Best Talk Show: Usapang Real Life (Cignal TV, TV5,)

Best Adaptation of an Existing Format: Sing Galing (Cignal TV, TV5)

Best 2D Animated Programme: Pinoy A+ : Filipino Stories for Kids (GMA Network Inc., GMA Pinoy TV)

Best Live Sports Coverage: #SeeUsStronger (Cignal TV, One Sports+)

Best Sports Programme: Basketball Almanac (Cignal TV, PBA Rush)
