GMA-7’s new drama series, Widows’ Web, aired its pilot episode yesterday, February 28, 2022.
Dubbed as the first “suspenserye” of GMA-7, it tells the story of four ladies whose lives got intertwined after the death of Alexander Sagrado III (Ryan Eigenmann).
Three of them are treated as crime suspects: Xander’s sister Barbara (Carmina Villarroel), Xander’s wife Jackie (Ashley Ortega), and Jackie’s friend Hillary (Vaness del Moral).
Meanwhile, Elaine Inocencio (Pauline Mendoza) enters their lives to investigate the truth behind Xander’s death after his boyfriend, Frank (Edgar Allan Guzman), was wrongly convicted and imprisoned.
The pilot episode showed the life of Elaine and Frank, and how they crossed paths with Xander, as well as Jackie and Barbara.
The future episodes will show how their lives will be affected by the death of Xander, as well as the real suspect behind the crime.
Widows’ Web is placed on the second prime-time slot of GMA Telebabad, going head-to-head against ABS-CBN Primetime Bida’s The Broken Marriage Vow, headlined by Jodi Sta. Maria, Sue Ramirez, and Zanjoe Marudo.
