Ruru Madrid suffered an injury on the set of his upcoming GMA Public Affairs series, Lolong.
Ruru posted photos of his injury on Instagram yesterday, March 7.
Ruru was shooting an action scene when he had a minor accident that left a hairline fracture on his foot.
According to healthline.com, a hairline fracture is “a small crack or severe bruise within a bone” and most commonly happens in athletes.
As a result, production of Lolong was stopped, again delaying the show, which was supposed to be in its last cyle of locked-in taping.
Ruru wrote in his post (published as is), “I had a minor accident a couple of days ago while taping for our upcoming show… As per the doctor’s advise, this hairline fracture requires a cast and 2-4 weeks rest.
"It’s unfortunate that we are packing up for now and resuming in about a month…
"Sad news.. but as a person who always tries to see the good in unfortunate situations, I guess I just need to remind myself that everything happens for a reason.
“Salamat po sa lahat ng nagbigay ng panalangin, pagmamahal at suporta sakin. Mahal ko kayo [heart emoji] #TeamLolong #Fighting”
Pre-production for Lolong started in 2020 with Shaira Diaz and Arra San Agustin chosen as Ruru’s leading ladies.
However, there were delays in the production that put on hold the show's taping, which only started in July 2021.
Lolong, which is based on the largest crocodile in captivity, is dubbed as the “biggest action-adventure series in GMA.”
