Rabiya Mateo, now officially a Kapuso talent, has started dabbling in hosting.
She co-hosted the recently concluded grand opening ceremonies of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) held on Saturday, March 26, 2022, which was simulcast on GMA-7 and Gtv.
Rabiya was joined by Martin Javier, Sophia Senoron, and Manolo Pedrosa in hosting the event.
The event was part of GMA-7’s partnership with NCAA, which is now in its second year.
In her post on Instagram, Rabiya expressed excitement over her first hosting foray after signing with GMA-7 in November 2021.
She wrote, "Another goal unlock! Thank you to all the people who trusted me to host the opening ceremonies of NCAA Season 97."
Julie Anne San Jose also had a part in the ceremony together with Garrett Bolden, Thea Astley, Jessica Villarubin, Mariane Osabel, Jeremiah Tiangco, Nef Medina, Vilmark Viray, and Anthony Rosaldo.
During Rabiya’s PEP Live interview on February 8, 2022, the Miss Universe-Philippines titleholder said that she would want to venture into hosting as part of her career as a Kapuso.
She said, “Dati sinabi ko, sana hindi lang din acting. I really want to do educational TV programs, I want to do hosting kasi wala naman po akong talent! Hahaha!
“I don’t know how to dance, I don’t know how to sing. However, I have the heart talaga to deliver information.
“Baka this time, nandoon naman ako sa hosting part.”
But she has already been proving herself in the acting department via the weekly series Agimat ng Agila as the leading lady of Senator Bong Revilla.
