Carmina Villarroel considers the talk show SiS as one of the most unforgettable shows she has done in all her years in showbiz.
SiS was GMA-7’s defunct talk show hosted by Carmina and real-life sisters Gelli and Janice de Belen.
The show ran from 2001 to 2010, with Carmina joining the show in 2004.
During her PEP Live guesting in February 2021, Carmina said that it was one of the shows she is thankful that she has done.
She even recalled how SiS was able to hold its own through the years, battling big shows from rival network ABS-CBN.
In fact, Carmina used to be part of SiS’ rival show, Morning Girls, which ran from 2001 to 2003.
The other shows SiS faced head-on were: Morning Girls with Kris and Korina (2003-2004), Good Morning, Kris (2004), Morning Star (2004), Homeboy (2005-2007), Boy & Kris (2007-2009), and Ruffa & Ai (2009).
But more than toppling its rival shows in the ratings game, Carmina is happy with what she has learned from doing the program.
Hahaha!
“So talagang pang-talk show ako talaga, e. So siguro, doon din ako nahasa sa SiS, so very thankful ako dahil tumagal ng ganon yung SiS.”
RELATIONSHIP WITH JANICE AND GELLI
It also helped that even before doing SiS, Carmina is already friends with Janice and Gelli, the reason why the chemistry was already there.
She said, “Siguro kasi dahil super best friend ko si Gelli and then si Ate Janice, nakasama ko, bata pa lang ako. So, parang ateng-ate talaga siya, di ba?
“Kaya siguro yung rapport naming tatlo, makikita mo talaga onscreen.
“Walang sapawan. We are very respectful to each other, yung nagbibigayan kami. So maganda rin yung factor na magkaibigan kami to begin with.”
Carmina’s heart continues to flutter whenever she remembers how people in and out of the industry supported their show.
Currently, Carmina and her kids Cassy and Mavy Legaspi host the talk show Sarap ‘Di Ba?.
Carmina is also seen in the Kapuso prime-time series Widows’ Web.
