Robi Domingo is the new host of Idol Philippines for its second season.
This was announced on Sunday, May 22, 2022, during the launch of Idol Philippines on ASAP Natin ‘To.
Robi said during the announcement, “It is my honor to be part of this very iconic show.”
Robi replaces Billy Crawford, who hosted the first season of Idol Philippines in 2019. Billy is now with TV5.
About the second season of Idol Philippines, Robi told the audience, “A new level of Idol experience ang sama-sama nating aabangan as we look for our next Idol. I’m so excited for this one.”
On Friday, May 20, ABS-CBN announced the judges of the second season.
Regine Velasquez and Moira dela Torre will retain their posts in the panel of judges.
They will be joined by newcomers Gary Valenciano and Chito Miranda, who are replacing former judges Vice Ganda and James Reid.
The second season of Idol Philippines is a co-production of ABS-CBN Entertainment and Brightlight Productions.
Zephanie was hailed as the winner of the first season. However, in March 2022, the singer left ABS-CBN and signed with GMA-7’s Sparkle.
Among the first-season finalists who are still active in showbiz are Lucas Garcia, Matty Juniosa, Enzo Almario, Fana, Shanaia Gomez, and Anji Salvacion.
ABS-CBN has yet to announce the airing date of Idol Philippines season two.
