GMA-7 has remained silent about the rumor claiming it acquired the rights to do a local version of The Voice.
What is certain, however, is that the network two reality shows are in the offing.
The first is the fifth season of its original singing competition, The Clash, which promises “bigger twists” and “most intense performances” from its contestants, a.k.a. Clashers.
Lani Misalucha, Christian Bautista, and Ai-Ai Delas Alas remain as the trio of The Clash panel, with Julie Anne San Jose and Rayver Cruz reprising their roles as Clash Masters or hosts.
It is not clear though if Rita Daniela and Ken Chan will keep their posts as The Clash journey hosts.
The Clash, since its first season in 2018, has produced four grand champions for GMA-7: Golden Cañedo, Jeremiah Tiangco, Jessica Villarubin, and Marianne Osabel.
NEWly ACQUIRED TALENT SHOW
Aside from the comeback of The Clash, GMA-7 is set to launch another reality show, an acquired format from Fremantle.
It is called Battle of the Judges, which started as a special format under the Got Talent franchise. It first aired in 2020 on France’s Got Talent.
In this program, celebrity judges will take the spotlight in a contest that pits them against each other.
The judges face off in knock-out duels, but only one winner will be chosen.
The show is not all about performance as it also involves strategy, with the judges themselves needing to decide who is best in their team to compete against their rival judge and talent.
GMA-7 has yet to announce when the two shows will air.
