Aga Muhlach has earned a nomination at the 27th Asian Television Awards for his performance in the TV5 series Suntok sa Buwan.
The Asian Television Awards is a prestigious entertainment, content, and broadcast awards in the Asia Pacific.
On Tuesday, October 25, 2022, the award-giving body released a list of nominees on its official website that included Aga as a nominaee for Best Actor in a Leading Role.
He is the only Filipino vying for the honor, alongside fellow actors from Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore.
Aga proudly shared his latest career milestone on October 26, 2022, as he reposted an Instagram post of project8project—the producer of Suntok sa Buwan.
The 53-year-old actor said that the nomination was unexpected.
He wrote in the caption (published as is), "Unbelievable! Only found out last night. Such wonderful news to be nominated for my first ever serye with actors from all over Asia.
"No words, just gratitude. Thank you @project8projects @tv5manila @cignalplay @cignalentertainment Hahahaha [This] was unexpected!

Aga is competing against seven finalists in the Performance, Best Actor in a Leading Role category.
The other nominees are Rexen Cheng (Taiwan), Rexen Cheng and Joe Ma (Hong Kong), Chanon Santinatornkul (Thailand), Miller Khan (Malaysia), and Adrian Pang and Richie Koh (Singapore).
Suntok sa Buwan features Aga as Jimmy Boy, a retired boxer with stage 3 cancer. His illness deeply affects his son Dos (Elijah Canlas) who is training to become a professional boxer.

Asian Television Awards is set to hold in-person events on December 1, 2022 at the Aliw Theater in Pasay City, and on December 8, 2022 at Resorts World Sentosa in Singapore.
The awarding ceremony in the Philippines will be hosted by Enchong Dee, Piolo Pascual, and Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray.
