Shaina Magdayao enjoys working with child stars of Nathaniel

“It's definitely worth the wait.”

This is what Shaina Magdayao says about her new TV project, ABS-CBN's new primetime series titled Nathaniel.

It took more than a year before the Kapamilya actress was given another TV series. Her last project on the small screen was Juan dela Cruz (2013) with Coco Martin.

Instead of complaining, Shaina said she just did what her character in Nathaniel would do.

“Ito nga, binigay niya sa akin ang Nathaniel,” she said in a quick chat with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and other entertainment reporter after the celebrity screening of Nathaniel on Sunday, April 12.

In this series, Shaina will play the mother of Nathaniel, played by new child actor Marco Masa.

Although this is not the first time she's playing the role of a mom, the 25-year-old actress says this is the most interesting.

As a former child star, Shaina said she often talks to Marco and his fellow child star, Yesha Camile, during their breaks on the set.

“Grabe 'yong mga bata. Nakakatuwa sina Yesha at Nathaniel.

“Six years old si Abby [Yesha] at seven si Nathaniel [Marco].

Most of the time, Shaina said she feels amazed by the natural talent of both child stars

“Mas magaling sila sa akin. Grabe ang talento ng dalawang 'yon,” she said with a smile.

They're very, very talented.

“At the same time, gusto rin talaga nila 'yong ginagawa nila.

REPLACING DREAM DAD. Meanwhile, Shaina admits they feel pressure in replacing Dream Dad, which did very well in the ratings game. Nathaniel is scheduled to air its pilot episode thisMonday, April 20, after TV Patrol.

However, instead of focusing on the possible ratings of their show, the actress said they just hope their audience would get the message they want to relay through the show.

Joining Shaina, Yesha, and Marco are fellow cast members Gerald Anderson, Pokwang, Benjie Paras, Isabelle Daza, Jairus Aquino, Sharlene San Pedro, Jayson Gainza, Ogie Diaz, Fourth and Fifth Solomon, and Coney Reyes.
