Versatile actor Tirso Cruz III is a long way from his former matinee idol days in this episode, as Rory Quintos directs him in a performance as that most deplorable of humans—an abusive father who rapes his own daughters.
Based on a letter written to Maalaala Mo Kaya by one of that man's daughters, the episode features Tirso Cruz III as Ruben, a man whose drunken rages and abusive behavior has made his entire family—including his long-suffering wife—terrified of him. His monstrous tendencies eventually focus on his daughters Ling (Joanna Tan) and Kail (Miles Ocampo). When Kail witnesses Ruben violate Ling, she is terrified, and tells her mother. But when Kail's aunt agrees to take Ling to live with her, it is up to Kail to fight her father—and fight for her family's future.
