Maine Mendoza joins first teleserye as Chef Elize in Princess in the Palace

Maine Mendoza (more popularly known as Yaya Dub) marked another milestone in her career by appearing for the first time in a teleserye.

In the Facebook page of Eat Bulaga, it was revealed that Maine will play Chef Elize in the GMA-7 daytime teleserye Princess in the Palace.

A previous episode of the Kapuso show, the advisers of President Leona (Eula Valdes) suggested that the administration prepare for a royal visit. They plan to invite dignitaries since they need to do something to improve the image of the country.

Dona Victorina (Boots Anson-Roa) suggested that her daughter, President Leona, hire a renowned chef who will be in charge of the food to be presented to royalty.

"Sikat siya sa New York. I've seen her sa isang reality show," said Dona Victorina about the chef.

"Ginawan na siya ng ilang documentaries. Kaya hindi siya basta-basta.

"She's a world-class chef and 'yan ang kailangan natin sa palasyo."

At this point, a woman whose back is to the camera, receives a phone call telling that she needs to go home because her country needs her.

"Tumawag ang staff ni President Leona. Kinukuha ka niya.
Ikaw ang gusto nila as the new Presidential Chef," said the phone caller to the woman who sounds a lot like Maine.

In real life, Maine studied Hotel, Restaurant, and Institution Management at the De La Salle-College of St. Benilde in Manila.

Born Nicomaine Dei Capili Mendoza, she is one-half of the phenomenal AlDub love team. She is paired with Alden Richards in the Kalyeserye segment of Eat Bulaga.

In the November 2015 issue of YES! Magazine, it was disclosed that when Maine auditioned for Eat Bulaga, she said that she did not know how to sing, dance, and/or act.

Jenny Ferre, TAPE Inc.'s senior vice-president for creatives and operations, asked Maine: "Ano'ng ginagawa mo?"

Maine answered, "Dubsmash," referring to the mobile app that allows a user to lipsync to songs and scenes from TV shows and movies.

She has since been dubbed the Dubsmash Queen for the popularity of her Dubsmashes that reach millions of pageviews.
