Kim Chiu gets starstruck with Princess Punzalan while taping in New York

Filipino celebrities who are now based in the United States--particularly Beth Tamayo, Leandro Muñoz, Carlo Muñoz and Princess Punzalan--are part of Kim Chiu and Xian Lim's teleserye The Story Of Us as the story focuses on their characters' journey in the U.S.

The Story of Us
does not only serve as a comeback for the tandem of Kim Chiu and Xian Lim on television. It also allowed viewers to see stars who have been absent from the limelight for quite some time: Princess Punzalan, Beth Tamayo, brothers Leandro and Carlo Muñoz.

The KimXi tandem had the opportunity to share scenes with these U.S-based stars when they taped in New York City a couple of weeks ago.

The story of this primetime series is now focused on Tin (Kim) and Macoy's (Xian) journey in the U.S., where Kim first went there to be reunited with her mother played by Zsa Zsa Padilla. Macoy is set to follow her there.

Kim admitted to (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and other members of the media during the press conference of The Story Of Us last March 8 that she got starstruck with these stars, particularly with Leandro and Carlo.

However, it is an entirely different story for Xian.

Kim said, “Ako, sobra akong nasa-starstruck.

According to Xian, Kim was shocked to see how Xian bonded with their co-stars, since she knew that they used to be big stars in the country.

In the story, the characters of Beth, Leandro and Carlo are Xian’s Filipino co-workers in a nursing home in the United States who will figure in a love triangle.

Kim admitted that she feels shy bonding with them, since these are the people she only used to watch on television before.

But Xian convinced Kim to bond with them as well.

Meanwhile, Kim also shared her experience in working with Princess Punzalan, who is very much known for her kontrabida role in Mula sa Puso as Selina.

She then joked, “Di ba yung tawa niya may orange orange pa yung tawa niya?

One of the unforgettable scenes in Mula sa Puso was when Selina blew up the bus carrying the lead character Via (played by Claudine Barretto). After the explosion, Selina let out an evil laugh as she watched the bus burn.

Meanwhile, Beth is known for her villain role in the 1997 soap opera Esperanza, wherein she played the third wheel in a love triangle with Judy Ann Santos and Wowie De Guzman. Her last TV appearance was in Luna Mystika starring Heart Evangelista.

Leandro is known as one of Claudine Barretto’s leading man in Saan Ka Man Naroroon, wherein she played triplets. He also appeared in Judy Ann Santos and Piolo Pascual’s movie Kahit Isang Saglit. He last appeared in the TV5 teleserye Felina alongside Arci Muñoz.

Carlo was also popular for playing the role of Mark in the original version of Pangako Sa ‘Yo, and as the leading man of Carol Banawa and Desiree Del Valle in the teleserye Bituin.
