Last April, GMA-7 revealed that renowned Filipino designer Francis Libiran will be creating the royal gowns of the Sang'gres for the upcoming "requel" of Encantadia.
The new leading ladies of the Kapuso telefantasya—Glaiza de Castro, Kylie Padilla, Gabbi Garcia, and Sanya Lopez—were seen visiting the designers' office several times to fit their new gowns. Just like in the original series, the colors of their gowns will match the colors of the gems that their characters are guarding.
Glaiza who plays the elder Sang'gre Pirena, the keeper of the fire gem, will be wearing red. Kylie as Sang'gre Amihan, the guardian of the air gem, will be wearing shades of blue throughout the whole series. Gabbi portraying Sang'gre Alena, protector of the water gem, will don gowns and armors in shades of green. Last but not the least, Sanya as Sang'gre Danaya, the custodian of the earth gem, will be wearing garments in earth tones such as nude, yellow, and brown.
Here's a sketch by Francis Libiran:
A few weeks later, Glaiza and Sanya were seen wearing their new training costumes while on the set of Encantadia 2016. The show's official Instagram account also gave a sneak peek of the armor to be worn by the four Sang'gres.
Earlier today, May 31, the gowns of the royal diwatas were finally revealed.
The four Sang'gres wearing their royal gowns were featured in a new poster for the TOYCON 2016 + POPLIFE FanXperience.
Cast members of the Kapuso telefantasya are scheduled to appear in the event which will take place from June 10 to 12, 2016 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.
