Will Janella Salvador and Elmo Magalona have kissing scenes in Born For You?

Janella Salvador and Elmo Magalona do not know yet if they will have a kissing scene in Born For You. However, Janella promised that there will be a lot of kilig scenes for their fans. "Marami naman talagang scenes na nakakakilig kahit na walang ganon pa." In the picture, the ElNella tandem shows how their characters are binded by the red string of fate.

Janella Salvador and Elmo Magalona's love team will be tested via the ABS-CBN teleserye Born For You.

In the series, Janella plays Sam, an aspiring singer who works in Japan while Elmo portrays Kevin, a popular singer who goes to Japan to shoot a music video.

Featuring a popular Japanese belief about the red string of fate, Sam and Kevin bumped into each other while crossing a road.

Elmo says about their characters, "Kevin goes to Japan to shoot the music video for his new single which is 'Born For You.'

"And then by chance, makakabangaan niya ang kanyang ka-red string of fate. Hindi lang sila once nagkita and triny talaga ni Kevin na hanapin siya ulit. But, hindi sila nagkita uli.

"And the next day na nasa Japan si Kevin, nagkita sila ulit and then by chance lang talaga.

"He tried na sundan siya pero hindi niya mahanap because Tokyo is such a big city, di niya makita yung girl na nakabangga niya. The day after, coincidentally, nagkita pa rin sila."

Their passion for music will bring their characters together. However, past connections of their families cause conflict, threatening to cut their budding romance.

The new primetime teleserye, which starts airing on June 20, allowed the ElNella (Elmo + Janella) love team to tape scenes in Tokyo, Japan.

During the ElNella media day yesterday, June 7, the two lead stars described how their Japan adventure brought them closer together, since this is the first time that they are paired together.

Janella narrated, "Maraming instances in Japan where we bonded. Siyempre like [sa] food!

"Pero may isang night na binigyan kami ng free time to go around, and super naaalala ko kasi naloka ako sa stores, I wanted to shop.

"Nagshopping kami doon, and nagulat ako kasi ang tagal tagal ko sa loob ng isang store, paglabas ko naghihintay pa rin si Elmo doon, hindi pa rin siya pumasok. Sobrang tagal niya naghintay!

"Tapos kumain kami ng sushi. Marami kaming memories sa Japan."

Meanwhile, Elmo's most memorable experience with Janella was when they shot their crossing scene in Shibuya.

"When we shot yung nagkabangaan kami sa Shibuya crossing road, yun yung pinakamemorable for me kasi doon sa scene na yun, siyempre maraming taong nagko-cross.

"And then, parang siyempre pwede ka talagang mabangga kahit kanino. Since si Janella [was the] only one I had a connection with doon sa scene na yun, that was the most special memory for me."

DAVID POMERANZ. Aside from going to Japan for some scenes, Janella and Elmo also had the opportunity to work with David Pomeranz, the original singer of "Born For You."

Elmo recalled his moment with David days after shooting the music video.

"It's so surreal. David Pomeranz himself flew in to sing a new rendition of his original song 'Born For You' para sa soap namin and it's such a big honor to shoot our music video."

"Coincidentally, nagte-taping kami sa Resorts World. Noong break bumaba ako, and then I saw David Pomeranz again and he had a show daw in Resorts World.

"Nilabas na yung music video, pinakita ko sa kanya!

"Nakaka-inspire siya to just see his presence, it's just sobrang nakaka-overwhelm."

Meanwhile, Janella is grateful for the chance to work with the international singer.

"Not all shows naman will really meet the original singer of their theme song. It’s such a big thing for me.

"Natuwa ako noong nalaman ko na siya yung kakanta, may version talaga siya. Nakakwentuhan ko siya, konti lang. I heard he has a house here in the Philippines."

Elmo then reminded Janella how David praised her singing talent.

He told her, "I remember, sabi ko kaya sa 'yo, [sinabi niya,] you're so good at singing.

"He heard Janella singing, he said you're really good."

KISSING SCENE. Since Born For You is a light-romance series, Elmo and Janella were asked if they will shoot a kissing scene for the show.

Janella, who just turned 18, said that there are kilig scenes even without kissing scenes.

"Abangan na lang natin [kung meron]. Pero actually, while reading the script, marami naman talagang scenes na nakakakilig kahit na walang ganon pa," she concluded.

Born For You is directed by Onat Diaz and produced by ABS-CBN's drama unit, Dreamscape Entertainment.
