After the success of his love team with Jodi Sta. Maria in Pangako Sa 'Yo, Ian Veneracion will get new leading ladies in his next teleserye.
After JodIan is seen in the movie The Achy Breaky Hearts, Ian will be working with Bea Alonzo and Iza Calzado in an upcoming ABS-CBN show.
In an interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) at the Team Tisoy Media Day of The Achy Breaky Hearts last June 16, Ian said that he cannot give details yet regarding the new project.
However, he admitted that he is excited to work with Bea since this is their first time to work together on a TV project.
Ian said, "Of course, first time ko siyang makakatrabaho and alam naman natin na napakagaling na artista and matagal ko na siyang nakikita."
In the past, Bea had different leading men in various TV shows, namely Paulo Avelino (in Sana Bukas Pa Ang Kahapon, 2014), Robin Padilla (Guns and Roses, 2011), Derek Ramsay (in Magkaribal, 2010) and her perennial onscreen partner John Lloyd Cruz (A Beautiful Affair, I Love Betty La Fea, Maging Sino Ka Man, Ikaw Ang Lahat Sa Akin, It Might Be You, Kay Tagal Kang Hinintay).
While Bea was starting out, Ian had been playing already supporting character roles in ABS-CBN and GMA-7 teleseryes such as Darating Ang Umaga (2003), Now and Forever: Tinig (2004), Mga Mata ni Anghelita (2007), Lastikman (2007), Totoy Bato (2009), Maria la del Barrio (2011), Kailangan Ko'y Ikaw (2012), and Got To Believe (2013).
Meanwhile, the upcoming TV project also serves as Ian's reunion with Iza, whom he worked with in several projects when they were still in GMA.
Ian recalled, "I've known her for a long time now, we're good friends and we even did a movie recently.
"Pero dito sa bagong show, wala pa din akong details na maibibigay."
He did not mention what the movie was, but according to Iza's Instagram post last April, she and Ian will be working on a movie directed by Jerrold Tarog.
Ian and Iza's past TV projects include Te Amo, Maging Sino Ka Man (2004), Joaquin Bordado (2008), and I Heart You Pare (2011). Ian also served as Iza's leading man in an episode of her drama anthology Obra in 2008.
ABS-CBN's upcoming TV series will also star Enchong Dee and Julia Barretto.
Julia said in an episode of Magandang Buhay that she is currently studying ballet for this upcoming series.
