It's confirmed: Jennylyn Mercado will topbill the Filipino adaptation of My Love From The Star!
This was revealed by Direk Joyce Bernal during a brief interview with PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) yesterday, August 7.
"Si Jennylyn po, siya yung Steffi," disclosed the director who will helm GMA-7's version of the hit fantasy drama.
In the Koreanovela My Love From The Star, the character Steffi Cheon is a big-time actresss who becomes the neighbor of lead actor Matteo Do.
It turns out the young looking professor Matteo is actually an alien who has been living on Earth for thousands of years. Just as he is about to leave Earth, he becomes romantically involved with Steffi.
Is this why Jennylyn trained with Jonas Gaffud?
"Model-like kasi yung Steffi," answered Direk Joyce.
Will Alden Richards still become the Pinoy version of Matteo Do?
Direk Joyce explained, "Sa October pa kasi kami pwede mag-convene [with GMA-7].
"Pero as of now, hindi ko pa alam kung wala na siya [Alden] talaga."
Set in the Joseon Dynasty and in modern-day Seoul, this romance drama was originally topbilled by Korean stars Kim Soo-hyun and Jun Ji-hyun.
