It seems like a Mulawin is set to appear in the requel of Encantadia.
Encantadia creator and headwriter Suzette Doctolero recently posted pictures of a half-human, half-bird creature looking at the Encantadia kingdom from afar. In her Twitter account, she provided the caption: "One more for more magic."
Encantadia 2016's official Twitter account also posted a behind-the-scene photo of a Mulawin with the two shows's title cards. It provided the caption: "Bukod kay Lira, may dapat pa tayong abangan!"
Mulawin cast member Miguel Tanfelix is rumored to be playing the half-human, half-bird creature.
These speculations came out when he posted Mulawin wings on his Instagram account.
His caption says, "Ang kanyang muling paglipad."
It can be remembered that the kingdom of Encantadia first existed in the 2004 fantasy series Mulawin, which was topbiled by Angel Locsin and Richard Gutierrez.
At that time, the characters in Encantadia were portrayed by G. Toengi, Sheryl Cruz, and Nancy Castiliogne.
In the Encantadia series, only Nancy's character Muyak was retained. The character is also seen in the 2016 version now being portrayed by Klea Pineda.
Meanwhile, Miguel became a part of Mulawin after he finished first runner-up in Starstruck Kids. He played Pagaspas, a bird who can transform himself into a human.
The Mulawin Bagwis, played by Zoren Legaspi, also had an appearance in the original Encantadia series wherein his character helped Danaya (Diana Zubiri) and Lira (Jennylyn Mercado).
The union of the Mulawins and the diwatas of Encantadia was seen in Mulawin: The Movie, GMA and Regal Films's entry to the 2005 Metro Manila Film Festival.
