Janice de Belen and John Estrada's daughter, Inah de Belen, is now officially a Kapuso!
The 22-year-old actress signed an exclusive contract with GMA Artist Center on Thursday, August 11.
GMA-7 executives who were present during the contract signing were SVP for Entertainment Lilybeth G. Rasonable, VP for Drama Redgie A. Magno, GMA Artist Center SAVP for Alternative Productions Gigi Santiago-Lara, and GMA Artist Center AVP for Talent Imaging and Marketing Simoun Ferrer.
Inah will be co-managed by Popoy Caritativo who also manages her mother Janice De Belen and Kapuso stars such as Dennis Trillo and Tom Rodriguez, among others.
In an interview with 24 Oras' entertainment news correspondent Aubrey Carampel, Inah revealed that it was GMA Artist Center's idea to change her screen name from Estrada to De Belen.
Inah explained, "Actually GMA suggested that I use de Belen talaga. Kasi sa industry, ang dami ng Estrada so 'pag may mga nagtatanong sa akin kung anong pangalan ko, I say Inah Estrada. Ang maiisip nila is 'relative ka ba ni former President Joseph Estrada?'"
She further explained, "So ang daming nako-confuse. But then dalawa lang 'yung de Belen sa industry so when they [refer to me] me as Inah de Belen, alam kaagad nila na anak ni Janice [de Belen]."
Inah added that her dad John Estrada is well aware and understands her decision for the name change.
She narrated, "Of course, my dad understands. May blessing naman siya. Aware naman siya na ang magiging screen name ko is Inah de Belen but my real name is Inah Estrada. Nothing will change that."
Currently, Inah is preparing for her first drama series in GMA-7 along with homegrown talents Jake Vargas and Jeric Gonzales.
The title of the show is yet to be revealed. Other actresses who will also be part of the upcoming series include Gladys Reyes, Ryan Eigenmann, and Epy Quizon.
Inah officially joined showbiz back in 2014 through ABS-CBN's talent management arm Star Magic. The former Kapamilya star appeared in several episodes of Maalaala Mo Kaya, Ipaglaban Mo, and Wansapanataym. She was also part of Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla's box office hit movie Crazy Beautiful You.
Her first lead role was for TV5's Wattpad Presents: The Nerdy Girl Turns Into a Hottie Chick, where she was paired with Akihiro Blanco. Inah also starred in the Kapatid network's remake of Baker King and Wattpad Presents: The K-Pop Star and I.
