Alyas Robin Hood creative consultant and concept developer Suzette Doctolero cites the differences between the new GMA-7 show and the Hollywood series Arrow. The upcoming Kapuso show is topbilled by Dingdong Dantes (in photo).

Rumors about GMA-7's new show Alyas Robin Hood being a rip-off of the U.S. series Arrow have been circulating online.

This happened when some netizens assumed that fan-art created by a blogsite would be the official poster of Alyas Robin Hood.

When a short teaser of this show starring Dingdong Dantes was released, netizens continued to accuse the Kapuso network of copying the American series produced by CW.

A Facebook post prompted Alyas Robin Hood concept developer and creative consultant Suzette Doctolero to reveal the inspiration behind the new series.

To clarify these issues about Alyas Robin Hood, PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) sent a Facebook message to Suzette earlier today, August 30.

The GMA executive narrated how they conceptualized this new show starring Dingdong Dantes.

So basically iyan ang kwento.

When asked about the differences of Arrow and Alyas Robin Hood, Suzette answered: "O, ang laki."

Just earlier today, Arrow actor Stephen Amell shared the teaser of the new show on his official Facebook page. He captioned it with an emoji showing a shocked facial expression.

PEP also asked for Suzette's reaction regarding this.

She responded by saying, "Hindi ko pa nababasa ang post niya.

"If ever, ang linaw naman na Alyas Robin Hood siya so I'm sure gets nila na it's from Robin Hood."

DEMAND LETTER IN THE PAST. The GMA writer, who also created Amaya and My Husband's Lover, recalled a controversy they faced in the past regarding another TV show.

This happened when they did a remake of Lupin, starring Richard Gutierrez and Rhian Ramos, which was aired in 2007.

"Let me tell you about one remake we did nine years ago, Ang Lupin ni Richard Gutierrez.

PEP then asked the writer to define what stories are included in the public domain and what shows were derived from these masterplots.

"Lupin pa lang ang nagamit namin at ang Beauty and the Beast. Naalala mo yung Aljur Abrenica at Kris Bernal story before, na prinsipeng panget si Aljur? [The Last Prince, 2010].

This writer then brought up Grazilda, a 2010 fantasy-themed series starring Glaiza de Castro.

Basta pag tungkol sa hooded vigilante hero na nagnanakaw from the rich to give to the poor.

In a Facebook post she made several hours later, the GMA creative writer clarified again that the poster is not owned nor made by the Kapuso network.

ENCANTADIA VS. GOT. On the other hand, Suzette's other work Encantadia has also been criticized by those saying that the telefantasya is a rip-off of the Hollywood series Game of Thrones (GOT).

When PEP asked the writer about this, she first answered: "Hahahaha."

Suzette then explained, "Re Encantadia imitating GOT, remember 2005 pa ang Enca at noon pa man ay marami nang factions na nagnanais makuha ang brilyante aside from Hathors, for example, Asval (Bobby Andrews in 2005, Neil Sese in 2016).

"So ignorant remark yang Enca imitating GOT.

"So the comment is malicious and ignorant.

"Lol. That's all thank you. Hahahaha."
