In 2016, showbiz aficionados and fans saw several artists transferring networks.

Some were already expected as they have already been rumored to leave their home network, but others came as a shock since their transfers only became known when they already started appearing in their new network's TV shows.

Let us take a look at the former Kapamilya, Kapuso, and Kapatid stars who decided to jumpstart their careers by moving to a new home.

After transferring in TV5 in 2010, Aga Muhlach returned to his original home ABS-CBN in 2016.

For his comeback project, he became a judge in the talent search Pinoy Boyband Superstar.

Singer Ogie Alcasid also made a big jump to the Kapamilya network after being a Kapatid since 2013.

Ogie made his debut as a judge in It's Showtime's singing competition Tawag ng Tanghalan. He is also set to appear as a judge in Your Face Sounds Familiar Kids this 2017.

After being absent on TV screens for several years, Kristine Hermosa finally made her comeback in 2016.

However, instead of appearing on her home network ABS-CBN, she joined her husband Oyo Sotto and father-in-law Vic Sotto in GMA-7 for the sitcom Hay Bahay.

Pinoy Pop Superstar season one winner Jonalyn Viray shocked everyone during the March press conference of ABS-CBN's teleserye We Will Survive when she was introduced as Jona. The former member of La Diva performed the theme song of the Kapamilya show.

Later that day, it was announced that she is joining ABS-CBN's recording arm Star Music, and by November, she inked a management contract with Star Magic.

When Ritz Azul's contract in TV5 expired earlier this year, she appeared in GMA-7's comedy shows Bubble Gang and Ismol Family.

However, in April 2016, the actress decided to sign up with ABS-CBN and Star Magic. She is set to topbill the upcoming teleserye The Promise of Forever alongside Paulo Avelino.

The actor first appeared in an episode of Ipaglaban Mo and later on landed a special role in Be My Lady.

Geoff is reported to topbill a new teleserye in the Kapamilya network soon.

A day after Jaya's GMA-7 teleserye Poor Senorita ended, she made an appearance in ABS-CBN's It's Showtime as a judge on Tawag ng Tanghalan.

Five days later, on July 20, the Queen of Soul confirmed on Tonight with Boy Abunda that she now belongs to the roster of Kapamilya singers.

Yassi Pressman started her career as a Kapuso, went to the Kapatid network, and eventually became a Kapamilya when she joined Pinoy Big Brother: Lucky 7 as a housemate.

The actress-singer-dancer became Coco Martin's leading lady in FPJ's Ang Probinsyano.

Starstruck V First Prince Enzo Pineda was first announced to be part of Star Cinema's film Extra Service, which fueled speculations that he might be transferring to the Kapamilya network.

Eventually, the rumors were confirmed when he appeared as an additional character in James Reid-Nadine Lustre's teleserye Till I Met You, as the new love interest of JC Santos.

Artista Academy winners Vin Abrenica and Sophie Albert also transferred to ABS-CBN this year.

Vin was the first to ink a contract with the Kapamilya network and already appeared in episodes of Ipaglaban Mo and Maalaala Mo Kaya.

Vin was supposed to be a part of the Bea Alonzo-Ian Veneracion series A Love To Last as his first Kapamilya soap, but he was later on pulled out. The brother of Aljur Abrenica is set to be one of Maja Salvador's leading men in the upcoming series Wildflower.

Teen actress Mika dela Cruz also made a big change in her career when she left ABS-CBN and Star Magic and joined PPL Entertainment Inc. and GMA Artist Center.

For her first TV series as a Kapuso, Mika will play the villain Mariko in Barbie Forteza's upcoming series Meant To Be.

Speaking of Meant To Be, Barbie's two new leading men also came from the Kapamilya Network: Ivan Dorschner and Addy Raj, who both signed up in November 2016.

After signing up with GMA, Inah topbilled her own afternoon drama series, the remake of Maricel Soriano's film Oh My Mama, which aired for 11 weeks.

Meanwhile, Alessandra's sister Assunta de Rossi returned to GMA after 12 years since she transferred to ABS-CBN in 2004. It can be recalled that Assunta's transfer became controversial because at that time, she was already being groomed as a lead actress, mainly in the series Hawak Ko Ang Langit.

Upon her return to GMA, she topbilled episodes of the drama anthologies Karelasyon and Dear Uge, and eventually, she did the afternoon show Magkaibang Mundo.

However, last September, he became a part of ABS-CBN's afternoon teleserye The Greatest Love as the husband of Dimples Romana's character. Luis was originally a Kapamilya and did several drama series in the early 2000s.

Meanwhile, these seasoned actors are really not known for signing exclusive contracts but stayed in one network for several years.
