Pinay teen Chrisha Choo once again impressed Korean music producers on KPOP Star 6.
Chrisha and Jeon Minju performed their version of Ariana Grande’s Problem” during the January 15 episode of KPOP Star 6.
The two contestants displayed energetic choreography and nailed the lyrics of the upbeat song.
The three judges—YG Entertainment CEO Yang Hyun Suk, JYP Entertainment CEO Park Jin Young, and Antenna Music Founder You Hee Yeol—were impressed by their performance. They even cheered when Chrisha hit the high notes during their number.
JYP’s Jin Young and YG’s Hyun Suk battled over Chrisha since they both wanted the Fil-Am performer to join their team.
YG’s Hyun Suk tried to persuade Chrisha to join his team by namedropping G-Dragon (of Big Bang fame) and the girl group Black Pink.
“From the beginning, I’ve been praising her and showing affection towards her.
“When she got eliminated, I turned back and cried with her. I seriously cried," admitted Hyun Suk.
"I want to take Chrisha to YG so she won’t get hurt again.
“I can bring in anyone she wants. If she wants to meet G-Dragon, I can bring in G-Dragon. If she wants to meet Black Pink, I can bring in Black Pink.”
Meanwhile, JYP’s Park Jin Young offered that he would give everything just to persuade Chrisha Choo to join his team.
In the end, Chrisha chose YG Entertainment.
This is Chrisha’s second chance at stardom since she was already eliminated from KPOP Star 6. She made a mistake during her performance with Lee Soo Min when they performed a remix of “Blood Sweat & Tears” by BTS and “Playing With Fire” by Black Pink.
Chrisha, whose real name is Kriesha Tiu, hails from the Philippines. She was born in Cebu and migrated to San Francisco, California. She was able to return to the talent search as a wildcard contestant.
