GMA headwriter and drama creative consultant Suzette Doctolero has released a statement about her controversial tweet on the Alden Richards-Maine Mendoza teleserye Destined To Be Yours.
The writer took to Twitter last April 24 to apologize for her statements about the Kapuso drama series, whose first three weeks she described as a "flop."
She wrote (published as it is): "Wrong choice of words. And for that, im sorry that ive maligned my own show. Not my intention. I admit i am not good in dealing with the bashers.
"No further statement. Ready na ako sa consequences. Before this stupidity, i hope ive served my network well. Thanks!"
After her exchange of tweets with AlDub fans on April 20, Suzette set her Twitter account to private.
However, news sites picked up on her tweets.
GMA senior vice president for drama Lilybeth G. Rasonable told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) on April 21 that management was happy with the ratings of the AlDub teleserye.
Regarding Suzette, the network executive said, “Her tweets are her personal opinions and not those of the Network. We will deal with her separately and privately.”
In Reggee Bonoan's column in Balita.net.ph, Suzette said that she had not yet spoken with the executive referred to in the network as Miss Lilybeth.
Suzette was quoted as saying, “Not yet. I’m sure she will. I’m actually not looking forward to it. She’s mabait and motherly, but when she gets mad, kashokot.”
Suzette is the brains behind many of GMA-7's groundbreaking shows, including Encantadia (2005), Amaya (2011), and My Husband's Lover (2013).
