GMA-7 actress Chynna Ortaleza shot a love scene with Dennis Trillo for the upcoming fantasy series Mulawin vs. Ravena.
Their intimate scene was included in the trailer shown during the telefantasya's press conference last night, May 15.
In an interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) during the presscon, Chynna described her love scene with Dennis as "hot."
However, she was pertaining to the environment of their location: the cave where the Ravenas live.
She exclaimed, "It was hot! I mean literally hot! Medyo mainit siya, mainit yung costume.
"Hindi rin naman like sobrang ideal na nasa loob kami ng kweba.
"Pero Dennis and I were able to pull it off, with, of course, the direction of Direk Dom [Zapata]."
However, since the fantaserye will also cater to children, Chynna clarified that they did not bare any skin, mainly because they are also humanoid birds wearing costumes.
She said about their costumes, "Oo naman. Nothing that will shock you. It's TV!"
In Mulawin vs. Ravena, which serves as a sequel to GMA-7's 2004 telefantasya Mulawin, Chynna plays the role of Rashana, a character not seen in the first version.
In the story, Rashana and Gabriel (Dennis) are husband and wife who rule the kingdom of Halconia.
She explained, "Kasi kumbaga, parang they're husband and wife din kasi.
"The thing is, in the story, well in that particular scene, that was before they decided that they could rule the kingdom together.
"To give you a background, my character, kapatid siya ni Rasmus which was Gary Estrada's character before.
"So when she found out na namatay yung kapatid niya, she exiled herself kasi, parang self-preservation na nagkakaubusan kami, lumayo layo muna ako.
"Then she found out na namatay yung kapatid niya. So when she went back to Halconia, nagkaroon ng parang toss up kung sino ang dapat mag-reign. Siya or si Siklab (Dion Ignacio).
"Then all of a sudden, dumating si Gabriel. Alam nila yun, e. Prophecy yun na there is a chosen one.
"So when she found out na ito yun, ito yung sinasabing chosen one namin, na maglelead sa amin.
"So when she decided, okay it's just right that you rule the kingdom. But because she has personal interest sa throne, she decided to use her pagiging woman."
Did Chynna have any hesitations doing a love scene, especially since she is already married to husband Kean Cipriano?
She answered, "No. We're both very free when it comes to our craft.
"My husband trusts my judgment when it comes to the things that I do for my craft.
"Of course, I tell him, parang this is what happened, this is what’s gonna happen. Just to tell each other pretty much na this is what's gonna happen with my role, this is the story, that's it."
ACTION SCENES. Mulawin vs. Ravena, which will air its pilot episode starting May 22, serves as Chynna's comeback teleserye after she gave birth in December 2015.
While she is glad to have the Kapuso fantaserye as a comeback project, there is also pressure since the original show was a landmark project.
"It's a big big project. I'm very very thankful they considered me to be a part of the sequel.
"I mean the story paved the way to, kumbaga, yung success ng GMA-7.
"To be part of the second story, we're working doubly hard kasi it's really not easy for you to continue a successful show."
Aside from this being a comeback project, Mulawin vs. Ravena also marks the first time that Chynna will be doing action scenes.
The 34-year-old actress admitted that it is a challenge for her, especially since she is not used to doing athletic activities.
She narrated, "This is the first time that I'm doing anything that's action. Kasi, kumbaga, it's the first time ever that I was called for fight training, for harness training.
"I'm really not an athletic, active individual. So kung anong challenging sa akin, it's really that.
"Kasi I'm very clumsy, I'm still scared with my fight scenes and my flying scenes. Feeling ko mababalian ako!
"Pero buti na lang, yung fight team namin, ano naman, sobrang tiyaga.
"May times na, 'Ayoko, ayoko!' pag nagfa-fight training kami.
"May fear pa rin ako kasi it's so unfamiliar and I'm not really type na parang struck physically, so it's like the biggest challenge for me."
Chynna also clarified that she knows that she will be taking on the challenge of fight scenes when the role of Rashana was offered to her.
She said in jest, "Well, oo, kasi Mulawin vs. Ravena nga yung title, di ba!
"Sabi nga nila, so may fight scenes ka dito, ah Mulawin vs. Ravena nga po so definitely, maglalaban talaga!"
