ABS-CBN actress Liza Soberano will soon be seen as the young Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach in Maalaala Mo Kaya.
This was confirmed by Liza's talent manager Ogie Diaz in a report by ABS-CBN News earlier today, May 23.
He revealed, "She's taping for MMK as the young Pia Wurtzbach. Bumangka sila sa story talaga noong wala pa siya sa pageant-pageant, so story ng family."
Zsa Zsa Padilla also posted behind-the-scenes photos with Liza while taping for the episode.
Zsa Zsa will portray the mother of Pia in the MMK episode.
She wrote in the caption, "My first time to act with this pretty lady! I must admit, it was hard focusing on my lines while looking at her beautiful face.
"Who knew such beauty could be distracting? But she's such an amazing actor and pretty soon, I felt like I was talking to my very own daughter.
"Please watch out for MMK soon featuring the life story of Pia Wurtzbach."
According to Zsa Zsa's posts, Pokwang's boyfriend Lee O'Brien will also be part of this MMK episode.
Child actress Krystal Mejes, who was first seen in the defunct daytime series Doble Kara, will play the kid version of Pia.
The episode will be helmed by director Nuel Naval and is scheduled to air this June 2017.
There were numerous times when Pia expressed her admiration for Liza whom she considers as Miss Universe material.
In an April 2016 interview, Pia said, "When I was asked at that time, it was just very quick, at the top of my head.
"I thought of commercial beauty na papasa na Pilipina pa rin siya, at yung naisip ko; and she’s young and she can still train."
Last May 3, PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) first reported that Liza was favored to play Darna in replacement of Angel Locsin in the upcoming Star Cinema movie.
