15 StarStruck graduates who transferred to ABS-CBN

ALJUR ABRENICA was hailed as the Ultimate Hunk of StarStruck 4: The Next Level.

The Ultimate Hunk title was the counterpart of the Ultimate Male Survivor tag.

Upon his victory, Aljur was given several leading man roles in the Kapuso network. Most of his shows were with his perennial onscreen partner Kris Bernal.

In 2014, after his series Kambal Sirena ended, Aljur filed for a termination of his contract with GMA-7. According to him, his career plans were not aligned with the network's plans for him.

However, in 2015, Aljur decided to return to GMA and was able to do a few teleseryes for the network.

On March 2017, after the much-talked about pregnancy of his fiance Kylie Padilla, Aljur's contract with GMA was not renewed.

Yesterday, July 31, the 27-year-old actor was officially welcomed as a Kapamilya by ABS-CBN bosses Deo Endrinal, Lauren Dyogi, and Cory Vidanes.

Aljur also had the chance to meet It's Showtime host Vice Ganda (right frame).

According to reports, Aljur has not signed any contract yet but he will be part of a Kapamilya teleserye soon.

PAULO AVELINO was eliminated in the Top 8 of StarStruck: The Next Level, but GMA-7 gave him several projects.

He was first tapped to play the third wheel to some Kapuso love teams until he was eventually given leading man roles in teleseryes.

In 2011, Paulo was supposed to be the leading man of Carla Abellana and Michelle Madrigal in the daytime series Kung Aagawin Mo Ang Langit. However, the actor turned down the role.

Instead, he accepted the offer of ABS-CBN that gave him the challenging role of Nathan in Walang Hanggan, which aired in 2012. In the primetime series, he worked with Coco Martin and Julia Montes.

Since then, Paulo was given a string of teleseryes where he played leading men to Angeline Quinto, Bea Alonzo, Maja Salvador, and a lot more.

The 29-year-old actor was also able to gain status as a movie star after he was given leading man roles in films produced by Regal Films, Star Cinema, and TBA Productions.

Paulo is set to be seen in two upcoming Kapamilya teleseryes: The Promise of Forever and Victims of Love.

ARCI MUNOZ got booted out of StarStruck 3: The Nationwide Invasion after getting involved in alleged cheating in the reality show.

The strong personality of Arci that was seen in those episodes paved the way for her to be given several kontrabida roles in GMA teleseryes, most of which were secondary villainous characters.

In 2011, Arci decided to transfer to TV5. In the Kapatid network, she was pegged as a dramatic actress as she starred projects such as Mga Nagbabagang Bulaklak (2011) and Felina: Prinsesa ng mga Pusa (2012).

When TV5 decided to scrap its line-up of teleseryes, projects started dwindling for Arci.

In 2015, Arci transferred to ABS-CBN and was given a plum role in the Filipino remake of the Mexican drama Pasion de Amor, where she played Jake Cuenca's love interest.

The 28-year-old actress became more popular when she did the movie Always Be My Maybe with Gerald Anderson in 2016. The movie was a surprise hit that earned P105 million in the box office.

CRISTINE REYES was the second finalist to get eliminated in the first season of StarStruck.

However, GMA still gave her important roles in teleseryes, most of these were kontrabida characters, like in Darna (2005) and MariMar (2007), which was her last Kapuso project.

In 2008, Cristine transferred to ABS-CBN when she was offered the lead role in its TV adaptation of the classic sexy movie Eva Fonda.

Projects and lead roles in teleseryes came one after the other for Cristine. Some of her projects include Kristine (2010), Reputasyon (2011), and the trending afternoon series Tubig at Langis (2016).

Her last show was the reality competition I Can Do That!

SARAH LAHBATI won the Ultimate Female Survivor title in StarStruck V.

This became the reason why she immediately got important supporting roles in GMA teleseryes. It was not long before she was given a big break in 2011, by headlining the afternoon series Kokak.

In January 2013, however, Sarah got into trouble when she declared on Twitter that she would have a one-month leave of absence and posted complaints about GMA Artist Center. She was then sued by her management company.

In March 2014, GMA gave her a second chance in her career and was continued to be seen in Sunday All Stars.

However, in 2015, Sarah shocked everyone when she performed in the Kapamilya variety show ASAP.

Afterwards, Sarah did guestings in ABS-CBN's drama anthologies Maalaala Mo Kaya and Ipaglaban Mo.

This 2017, Sarah will be seen in a special role in the upcoming series The Promise of Forever.

ENZO PINEDA became the First Prince of StarStruck V, or the runner-up of the Ultimate Male Survivor.

Enzo did several minor roles in the Kapuso network's teleseryes.

In 2013, he was given a break when he played one of the leading men in the daytime series Kakambal ni Eliana. However, in succeeding projects, he got supporting roles.

In 2016, Enzo was announced to be a part of the Star Cinema movie Extra Service. This fueled speculations that he will be transferring to the Kapamilya network.

Eventually, Enzo appeared in the Kapamilya primetime teleserye Till I Met You.

Currently, the 26-year-old actor plays the third wheel to Sofia Andres and Diego Loyzaga in the daytime series Pusong Ligaw.

MEGAN YOUNG was the last female survivor to get booted out in StarStruck Season Two.

She was assigned bit roles in Kapuso teleseryes.

In 2007, Megan decided to transfer to ABS-CBN and became Zanjoe Marudo's leading lady in Kokey. However, she wasn't able to finish the series since she was included in the second Celebrity edition of Pinoy Big Brother.

Megan then did a kontrabida role in I Love Betty La Fea and in 2012, she reunited with Zanjoe as his leading lady in the short-lived afternoon series Hiyas.

In 2013, when she was still a Star Magic talent, Megan started doing TV shows for TV5 and eventually, joined and won the Miss World title.

After her reign, in 2015, Megan returned to GMA-7 and did a remake of MariMar.

JESI CORCUERA was one of the finalists of StarStruck IV: The Next Level.

After the contest, Jesi did a few shows in the Kapuso network before deciding to leave showbiz.

In 2016, Jesi returned to television as a transman housemate in Pinoy Big Brother: Lucky 7.

NADINE SAMONTE was the last female avenger to get eliminated in StarStruck's first season.

However, she was also the first finalist to get her solo teleserye via the TAPE-produced series Ikaw Sa Puso Ko. At one point, Nadine was even crowned as the afternoon princess of GMA.

After doing a string of lead, supporting, and kontrabida roles for the Kapuso network, in 2011, Nadine transferred to TV5.

Nadine was also able to do a string of teleseryes for the Kapatid network.

However, in 2014, Nadine shocked everyone when she made a surprise appearance in ABS-CBN's 2014 series Hawak Kamay.

She was also able to do few guest roles in FPJ's Ang Probinsyano and Ipaglaban Mo.

The 29-year-old actress is currently taking a rest from showbiz after giving birth in 2016.

PRINCE STEFAN was the First Prince of StarStruck IV: The Next Level.

GMA-7 honed Prince as a leading man along with his other co-finalists in Starstruck. He even became one of Lovi Poe's on-screen partners.

In 2015, Prince did his first project with ABS-CBN: the teleserye You're My Home.

In 2016, after coming out as gay, Prince did a special role in the LGBT-themed series Till I Met You.

Currently, the 28-year-old actor is part of A Love To Last.

JEWEL MISCHE won the title of Ultimate Sweetheart in StarStruck IV: The Next Level.

Her title is equivalent to the Ultimate Female Survivor of previous batches.

Jewel was given lead roles in the Kapuso teleseryes. She even became the leading lady of Richard Gutierrez in Kamandag (2007).

In 2010, Jewel decided to transfer to ABS-CBN and was given a string of kontrabida roles.

She eventually decided to leave showbiz. Her last TV project was the afternoon series Paraiso, which aired from 2012 to 2013.

JOHAN SANTOS was the third finalist to get eliminated in StarStruck 3: The Nationwide Invasion.

He was no longer seen in any projects of GMA-7.

In 2009, Johan became one of the finalists of Pinoy Big Brother: Double Up, wherein he finished Fourth Big Placer.

To date, Johan continues to do supporting roles in ABS-CBN teleseryes. In fact, he is currently doing two shows: The Better Half and La Luna Sangre.

TYRON PEREZ was one of the avengers (eliminated finalists) of StarStruck's first season.

He did kontrabida roles in Kapuso teleseryes, including the remake of Kung Mahawi Man Ang Ulap.

In 2010, Tyron transferred to ABS-CBN. He was immediately given a major role in Momay.

He also accepted a guest role in Imortal and a supporting role in Mula Sa Puso.

Unfortunately, his promising career in the Kapamilya network was cut short when he died due to apparent suicide in December 2011.

VIVO OUANO was one of the avengers of Starstruck 3: The Nationwide Invasion.

Vivo played best friend and sidekick roles to lead stars in GMA teleseryes.

After taking a rest in show business, Vivo returned in 2015 as a Kapamilya. He became a part of the daytime series Langit Lupa.

He currently appears as one of the Jaguar boys in Wildflower.

IAN BATHERSON was the last guy to be eliminated in Starstruck V.

This was after the so-called "factor one" took effect upon his inclusion in the bottom three. A finalist who gets included in the bottom three for the third time will automatically get eliminated.

After his StarStruck stint, he joined again another Kapuso reality show: Survivor Philippines: Celebrity Showdown.

In 2013, Ian transferred to ABS-CBN and did a short role in Little Champ.

His last Kapamilya TV show was Kapamilya Deal Or No Deal. Since then, he focused on doing movies under VIVA Films.
