Artista Academy winner Sophie Albert is now a Kapuso.
The 27-year-old actress signed an exclusive contract with GMA-7 earlier today, October 13.
Present at Sophie's contract signing were: talent manager Manny Valera, Senior Assistant Vice-President for Alternative Productions Gigi Santiago-Lara, and Assistant Vice-President for Talent Imaging and Marketing Simoun Ferrer.
Sophie emerged the female winner of TV5's reality-based star search Artista Academy in 2012.
Her male counterpart was her ex-boyfriend Vin Abrenica, who is already with ABS-CBN.
Sophie took part in the Kapatid network's shows Never Say Goodbye (2013), Wattpad Presents (2014), and Happy Truck ng Bayan (2015).
In 2016, Sophie signed up with Manny Valera's talent management company after asking TV5 to release her as a contract star.
It was also reported that she joined Vin and other former Kapatid stars Ritz Azul, Arci Munoz, and JC de Vera in ABS-CBN.
She used to be a Star Magic talent even before she joined Artista Academy.
However, she did not become visible in any project with the Kapamilya network.
But last May 2017, Sophie did a guest appearance in ABS-CBN's crime drama anthology Ipaglaban Mo.
