Former TV5 actor Victor Silayan said that he could have stayed with the Kapatid network had it not scrapped its entertainment shows. "Sayang, it would have been great kasi I would've graduated and then we could have been, 'Okay, game, let's start! Acting, tara, full-time na tayo. 200 percent, let's put our efforts there.'"

Before Victor Silayan appeared in ABS-CBN shows and films, he was originally a talent of TV5.

However, the 25-year-old actor—who is the grandson of late veteran actor Vic Silayan—felt that his full immersion in the entertainment industry started when he transferred to the Kapamilya network last year.

He felt this way when he was tapped to play Cristine Reyes's ex-boyfriend in the 2016 afternoon series Tubig at Langis.

He admitted, "If you'll ask me, like, TV5 was more of.. honestly, ABS, which was about last year, I would say that was my first time to be really in the industry.

"Kasi when I was in TV5, I was still studying, e. My main focus was really studying.

"And everytime I tape, it was like twice a month, once every two months, so I wouldn't really say na I was really involved in showbiz.

"So showbiz really started for me, my very first talaga, was Tubig at Langis. First time ako nagka-regular schedule na T-TH-S, dati wala talaga."

Prior to his ABS-CBN stint, Victor was a contract artist of TV5 from 2011 to 2014.

His very first TV project was TV5's short-lived primetime series The Sisters, which ran for eight weeks.

Victor's other shows were Glamorosa (2011), Third Eye (2012), Boracay Bodies (2013) and the sexy mini-series Misibis Bay (2013).

Though short-lived, Misibis Bay was one of TV5's primetime series that made a mark since it was the last teleserye of Megan Young before she won the Miss World 2013 crown.

Victor said about this, "Parang fun ang Misibis Bay, e. Nasa resort kayo tapos kasama ko friends ko, sila Daniel Matsunaga.

"When we were there, parang enjoy lang, although I would say na I enjoyed that much kasi vacation kayo, e.

"Pero in terms of acting, biyahe, sagaran, it's really with ABS. TV5 was more of introduction for me and I wouldn't really say na I was pretty much involved with showbiz yet."

When his contract expired in 2014, Victor decided to put up a business after graduating at De La Salle University-Manila.

"When it expired, in 2014, I put up a business na. Kasi kaka-graduate ko lang din, e.

"So sakto, that same year, we started our business and then for two years it was operating and then last year lang, Tubig at Langis started so I'd say na talagang showbiz-showbiz, it was last year.

"I believe everything was very timely, I was able to graduate. I was able to study at the same time, provide my own income."

PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) spoke to Victor at the October 22 bloggers's conference of his upcoming movie The Ghost Bride held at ELJ Building, Quezon City.

Victor plays the elder brother of Kim Chiu in the horror movie that will open in cinemas on November 1.

TV5 STARS IN ABS-CBN. Victor is happy to be reunited with his former workmates in TV5 who are now with ABS-CBN.

Prior to his transfer, celebrities such as JC de Vera, Arci Muñoz, Daniel Matsunaga, Danita Paner, and Alex Gonzaga already signed contracts with the Kapamilya network.

Other TV5 homegrown actors—Ritz Azul, Vin Abrenica, Akihiro Blanco, Chanel Morales, and Mark Neumann—followed suit.

Victor exclaimed, "Lahat na nandito! It's a reunion!

"It's good to see... I've come across like si JC de Vera, si Arci Muñoz.

"Ritz Azul! Kasi si Ritz yung first pine-pair ako sa TV5, e. Pero because of school, na-compromise yung work ko talaga.

"It's good to see them. It would be nice to work with them again."

Just recently, TV5 announced that it would focus on sports programming.

For his part, Victor admitted that had TV5 remained active in the entertainment scene, he could have stayed with the Kapatid Network.

"Sayang, it would have been great kasi I would've graduated and then we could have been, 'Okay, game, let's start! Acting, tara, full-time na tayo. 200 percent, let's put our efforts there.'

"I would say, sayang, any business na hindi pumutok, sayang.

"And we made friends already there, as much as the actors, within the business the itself, the units, the bosses, we get to hang out na, gano'n nang level, e. Sayang."

Aside from being part of the Star Cinema movie The Ghost Bride, Victor is set to appear as a guest in the top-rating Kapamilya teleserye Wildflower.
