JC Santos (right) will no longer be part of the upcoming ABS-CBN teleserye Asintado, starring Julia Montes and Aljur Abrenica. As he put it, "It's not meant to beh." Julia Montes and Aljur Abrenica (left) star in Asintado.

JC Santos is no longer a cast member of ABS-CBN's upcoming teleserye Asintado, which stars Julia Montes.

He confirmed this to PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) during the blogcon of his 2017 Metro Manila Film Festival entry Meant To Beh.

The 29-year-old actor said, "Ah. Hindi na. I think, it's different priorities talaga."

He clarified, "There is no issue about it, parang nangyari noong Ghost Bride."

The Ghost Bride is the Star Cinema horror movie shown last November 2017 starring Kim Chiu.

JC was supposed to be part of the movie, but he pulled out of the cast and was replaced by Christian Bables.

Last May, JC was announced as a cast member of the teleserye Asintado, which was formerly titled Victims of Love.

Also present during the storycon and media announcement were Paulo Avelino, Lorna Tolentino, Cherry Pie Picache, and Julia, who are all still part of the series.

Angelica Panganiban, who was also at the storycon, is another star who will no longer be part of Asintado.

Shaina Magdayao was recently announced as one of the stars of the TV series.

New ABS-CBN talent Aljur Abrenica, who was not present at the media announcement, has been seen taping for the series.

This makes Asintado one of his earliest projects as a Kapamilya after his transfer to ABS-CBN from GMA7 in September 2017.

There is no word if Aljur replaced JC in the series or if he is playing a different character.

NEW PARTNER. After being pulled out of Asintado, JC will have a new teleserye in 2018.

He said, "I think sa February. I think may plano sila.

"May partner akong bago, may plano sila for the two of us."

Since he is not yet allowed to reveal the identity of his new partner, he was asked to provide some clues.

Laughing, he answered, "Siyempre, babae!"

TEASER. A short teaser for Asintado was released last December 28.

The characters of Julia and Shaina were shown as sisters who are separated in their childhood because of a fire.

No timeslot has been announced, but the afternoon series Pusong Ligaw announced that it is now down to its last three weeks on the air.
