“Just when I thought na I played every kontrabida role, this came along and I will say that this is my favorite.
“I play La Ora, the usual antagonist to everything. I have power that comes from my eyes that causes people to freeze and hurt their inner organs somehow na hindi sila makakagalaw.
“I wear wonderful clothes and costumes and a new face. Of course, it is created by no less than Fanny Serrano and I’m grateful about it because after playing so many antagonist roles, it’s nice to play around a concept and look that only Fanny can create in this particular role.
“And of course, kailangan fashionista pa rin, di ba? So with this look, I am hoping that this will be a beginning of another concept of an iconic character in our teleseryes,” pahayag pa ni Cherie sa press launch ng Sirkus sa GMA Coop Building sa Quezon City.
“I applaud these people for being patient with me.
“I guess everyone is actually kind of irritated kasi of the location that is very far, tapos we have to wear these elaborate costumes in the middle of the day when its really hot.
“But you know, everything was worth it kasi when we saw the trailer, we were all clapping with joy. Kasi ang ganda and it’s the first time that we saw something like that so amazing on television,” diin pa ni Cherie.
“They’re very generous to collaboration and really they are spoiling me.
“They are giving me what I ask in terms of character creation because I’ve done a few fantasy series in the past but it’s always been girl-next-door/bad girl na nadaan lang sa mga damit pero ito naman kasi iba, e.
“It’s a whole new thing for me kahit na I have been playing kontrabida for so many years. Meron pa pala akong hindi nagagawa and that is La Ora.
“It’s something that I always wanted to do in my life as a kontrabida, something different, something beyond and bigger than life and fantastical.
“It’s exciting because it’s for children. It’s a fun TV show that’s really entertaining and masaya, magaan, and, of course, everything happens in the circus.”
“I was a judge when he was in Protégé and to see him now actually working professionally, natutuwa ako.
He not only sings very well, he also does comedy and drama. He’s a versatile performer.
“They’re very cool. In fact, the first day na nagte-taping ako, na-obserbahan ko talaga sila because sila ang lead.
“It takes a lot for me to get drawn by young actors and I found myself just watching them and I’m enjoying it.
“And so I kinda felt na that moment ang perfect ng chemistry nila.
“Cute talaga sila. I really like them so much and they’re open and very genuine.
“And so, when they come and talk to me during breaks and share about their lives, I’m touched dahil feeling ko hip tita na pala ako.
“They just talk to me and I want them to do that, relaxed working with me and become one happy family.
“I like their tandem, maganda ang kanilang kombinasyon,” pagtapos pa ni Ms. Cherie Gil.
