According to a post by Dreamscape Entertainment head Deo Endrinal, the story conference was held in April 12.

Through her her Instagram stories, Angel showed a copy of her new teleserye's pilot week script.

The General's Daughter serves as Angel's full-length comeback on prime-time TV after four years. The last teleserye she top-billed was the 2014 series The Legal Wife.

In September 2017, Angel appeared in the prime-time series La Luna Sangre, where she was a cast member until January 2018.

This drama series will also serve as Angel's reunion with former Kapuso actress Ryza Cenon, who played her younger sister in the 2006 fantasy series Majika.

Ryza transferred to ABS-CBN after signing an exclusive contract for two years with the Kapamilya network on April 12, 2018.

Maricel makes a comeback to doing teleseryes after four years. Her last TV project was the GMA-7 series Ang Dalawang Mrs. Real.

Another returning Kapamilya is Janice, whose last TV series was GMA-7's My Korean Jagiya. Early this year, she also starred in an episode of ABS-CBN's Saturday drama anthology Ipaglaban Mo.
