Tom Rodriguez talks about dealing with cancer in the family

Tom Rodriguez talks about dealing with cancer in the family. His dad, William Albert "Bill" Mott Sr., succumbed to cancer in 2017.

Pagbubukas ng actor, “It’s weird ‘cause there are parallel things… ‘Ah, yeah, yeah, that happened!’

“Pero when you’re there, yung weird na nangyayari, hindi mo iisipin na, ‘Ah si daddy ‘to.’

“Kasi when you’re there in the scene… the experiences of Tom...Almost like, kumbaga… gasoline kumbaga to get you to where you want to be.

"Pero hindi siya yung main thought, it fuels lang me in a way.”

REAL-LIFE STRUGGLE.

“I’ve seen things like that happened to contemporaries of mine and how it hurt them and destroy them.

“And I told him, ‘Dad, I will never let this get me down. As hard as it was, I told him in his deathbed, ‘It will never get me down.

"'And everything I do from now on will be for you. I promise I won’t let you down.’”

“But I’ve heard a few things, that there are like vaccines being developed for that.”

“Ang haba ng proseso just to bring it to the market, yung timeline pa lang ilang years.

“Hindi ko lang masabi, lahat kasi when we tried it… when I came here for the PCCS, the Philippine Cannabis Compassion Society, they brought me there and I wanted to see.”

“I was researching for it kasi we were desperate ’tapos nakita niya ako…

"She had a lot of information that the doctors in the States didn’t have.

“Kaya I’m so thankful to my friend, if it wasn’t for her, I may have not been able to give that option to dad.

“Yun nga lang we  found out, we were able to use that option way too late, hindi na niya kaya.

“Kasi kung yung stigma and impormasyon wala dun, mahirap.

“Kasi even when you guys are trying to use it for… for dad, for example,.

"I mean there are people around you who will judge you.

"Baka mas nakakasama sa kanya, I wouldn’t know.

"Kasi by the time we went to the alternaive route it was way too late.”

Ang The Cure ay pinagbibidahan nina Tom at Jennylyn Mercado. Kasama rin sina Irma Idlawa; Jaclyn Jose; Mark Herras; LJ Reyes; Ken Chan; Jay Manalo; Ronnie Henares; Glenda Garcia; Diva Montelaba; Arra San Agustin, at Leanne Bautista. Ito ay sa direksyon ni Mark Reyes.
