GMA-7's drama series Kambal Karibal is set to end anytime soon after getting several extensions.
This was announced on the Kapuso series's teaser for its July 3 episode.
GMA-7, however, has not yet announced the exact date of Kambal Karibal's final episode.
Bianca Umali, Kyline Alcantara, Pauline Mendoza, and Miguel Tanfelix top-bill this prime-time series.
The network first announced that this Kapuso prime-time series will end its run last February.
Days later, reports said that Kambal Karibal is extended until May 2018, and will be replaced by a series starring Nora Aunor titled Onanay. This show was previously known as Extraordinary Love.
However, because of its high ratings, the network decided to extend it once more until August 2018.
When PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and other reporters interviewed the cast of Kambal Karibal during the April 30 Kapuso Pistay Dayat event, Bianca revealed that their show was only supposed to run for 8 weeks, as a filler for another show.
She said back then, "The original running time for the show is for only 8 weeks.
"Ang alam ko, Kambal Karibal was only supposed to air because we were waiting for another show to air, or another show was not ready yet.
"Originally po, this year pa lang po kami mag-e-air. We were supposed to start ng January but then we started early because yun nga, there was a show that wasn't ready hanggang sa na-extend na kami ng na-extend ng na-extend."
Recent episodes showed that the rivalry between Crisan (Bianca) and her ghost twin Crisel (Pauline) will further intensify.
This is because of Crisel's jealousy towards Crisan and Diego's (Miguel) romance.
Maricar (Sunshine Dizon) will also push through with her battle to get back her daughter Cheska (Kyline).
However, Geraldine (Carmina Villaroel) will do everything to stop Maricar's battle because Crisel's soul continues to use Cheska's body to live like a normal person.
Kambal Karibal, which premiered last November 27, 2017, is currently on its 8th month of airing.
