When asked if it's still possible to see SOP singers do a "Back-to-Back-to-Back" reunion, Regine Velasquez (left) replied in jest, "You'll never know kasi iniwan na nila tayong lahat, nasa Channel 2 na sila, mga bastos sila." Regine is reunited with fellow SOP host Lani Misalucha (right) in GMA-7's new singing talent search show The Clash.

Eight years have passed since SOP stopped airing on GMA-7. However, avid fans of SOP are still hoping to see its prime singers namely Regine Velasquez, Jaya, Lani Misalucha, Ogie Alcasid, Janno Gibbs, and Cacai Velasquez together in one performance.

Its segment called “Back-to-Back-to-Back,” which highlighted their singing prowess, used to be one of the most awaited portions of GMA Network's defunct Sunday noontime show.

Now that Lani Misalucha has returned to GMA-7 via its newest singing talent search show The Clash, some fans are hoping this will pave the way for the singers to reunite and perform once again like they used to in “Back-to-Back-to-Back.” (Philippine Entertainment Portal) asked Regine and Lani about this during a visit to the set of The Clash last July 19.

Asia's Songbird answered in jest, “You'll never know kasi iniwan na nila tayong lahat, nasa Channel 2 na sila, mga bastos sila.

“Lalo na yung asawa ko, nuknukan ng bastos, in real life, huh.”

Regine is referring to her husband, Ogie Alcasid, who is currently part of ABS-CBN's celebrity impersonation show Your Face Sounds Familiar Kids.

Meanwhile, Jaya is now a judge on It's Showtime's "Tawag ng Tanghalan," just like Ogie.

Aside from Ogie and Jaya, Janno also transferred to GMA's rival network ABS-CBN. Janno made several guest appearances in Kapamilya shows.

Lani added, “We'll never know baka naman talaga in the future.

“Ako rin, gusto ko rin naman na mangyari 'yon, you know, with Janno, Jaya, Ogie, Regine, Cacai.”

Asia's Nightingale hopes it happens in the near future.

“Sana kung mangyayari 'yon, hindi naman sana yung matagal na matagal na bago mangyari.

“Ayaw ko namang mapanood ng mg tao na uugod-ugod na tayo bago mangyari yun,” Lani said with a laugh.

The former SOP singers still meet up for a mini reunion whenever possible.

Lani said, “Ang reunion namin na nangyayari ay kita-kita, dinner, kuwentuhan.

“Pero reunion show, parang ang ang hirap na yatang mangyari since ang iba ay nasa ibang network, ang iba naman ay nandirito.”
