Former Pinoy Big Brother housemate Manolo Pedrosa is now a talent of GMA-7.
He inked a management contract with GMA-7's talent arm, GMA Artist Center, earlier today, July 27.
Present during the contract signing were GMA SVP for Entertainment Lilybeth Rasonable, GMA Artist Center AVP for Talent Imaging and Marketing Simoun Ferrer, and his manager Jun Reyes.
Manolo's transfer to GMA-7 comes after a two-year hiatus in show business, after appearing in several shows of ABS-CBN.
After his stint in Pinoy Big Brother: All In in 2014, Manolo became part of the Kapamilya drama series Hawak Kamay.
He also starred in an episode of Maalaala Mo Kaya with Janella Salvador.
The MMK episode paved the way for him to be included in Janella's daytime drama series Oh My G! as one of her leading men. It was aired in 2015.
After the series, Manolo joined the afternoon series Nasaan Ka Nang Kailangan Kita as third wheel to Loisa Andalio and Joshua Garcia.
In an interview with GMANetwork.com, Manolo explained how he decided to make a comeback to television.
He said, "Kasi di ba nag-schooling muna ako, and then dun ko na-realize na how much I want to act, entertain ng mga tao.
"Tapos yun, tinawagan ko yung manager ko, sabi ko, 'Sir Jun, I want to go back to showbiz.'
"And then he is the one who recommended na to try GMA.
"And sabi ko, 'Sige, why not?' I like to try things, e. That’s how you get different opportunities."
According to GMA executive Rasonable, Manolo has the makings of a future leading man in Kapuso projects.
"Pwede siyang pang leading man kasi he has the height, definitely has the looks, and I believe may experience na talaga siya in acting which can be further honed.
"And ang cute ng eyes niya—that’s his asset and he speaks very well, so pwede 'yang pang leading man si Manolo."
The lady boss of GMA-7 also revealed that Manolo already auditioned for some roles in upcoming shows of the network.
She elaborated, "Yes, actually, he has auditioned for a part but let's see which role he lands.
"But definitely we will further train him so that he can have more projects here in our Kapuso network."
