Vanessa Hudgens calls So You Think You Can Dance contestant as "fellow Filipino"

Filipino-American singer-actress Vanessa Hudgens praised Fil-Am contestant Hannahlei Cabanilla for her performance in the U.S. TV show So You Think You Can Dance.

During the August 6 episode, which was the first performance of the show's Top 10, Hannahlei and her partner Cole Mills performed a contemporary dance routine.

Their routine was commended by judges Nigel Lythgoe, Twitch, Mary Murphy, and Vanessa.

Vanessa, whose mother is a Filipina who hails from Manila, called Hannahlei as her "fellow Filipino girl."

The High School Musical actress told Hannahlei and her partner Cole, "It was just magical, truly magical.

"Hannahlei, my fellow Filipino girl, you make me proud.

"You’re just like a dream. Your lines are just so astonishing, so beautiful.

"The two of you had some beautiful connections together.

"Cole, you doing contemporary I really love because it’s really beautiful, it’s so pure and honest."
