Jasmine Curtis-Smith gets asked: which TV network gave her the biggest offer?

Jasmine Curtis-Smith admitted that she received an offer from ABS-CBN but she chose to sign up with GMA-7.

The former TV5 star disclosed this during an exclusive interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) earlier today, September 27, at the Summitmedia office.

The 24-year-old actress signed a two-year contract with GMA Network on April 17, 2018.

According to Jasmine, she gained insight about the Kapuso Network while working with Tom Rodriguez for their project Maledicto.

"Paano ba ang network? Paano ba ako makikihalubilo diyan?

"Siyempre, may culture na papasukan ko. At least, nakapag-research ako through Tom."

What did she learn about GMA from Tom?

"Good lahat. Nag-research rin ako through Lauren Young. Tinanong ko rin siya kasi matagal na rin since lumipat siya from previous network.

"Gusto ko rin malaman kung ano yung culture na na-experience niya. Isa na rin siya ang nag-kuwento sa kung paano."

Did her experience with GMA live up to her expectations?

"True enough, mababait ang mga tao, very accommodating, wala pa naman akong na-encounter to feel worried about...I hope wala naman.

"Trabaho lang naman 'yan. Network lang naman 'yan. Kumbaga, ang real work ay yung nasa taping na kami.

"Kapag nagpo-promo na kami."

Did she receive an offer from ABS-CBN?

"Of course. Meron din naman but kami ni Mama Betchay [Vidanes, her manager], nag-usap about it...yung kakayanan ko ngayon, pagkatao ko ngayon, yung mga projects na gusto ko kung sakali sa labas ng GMA or ABS-CBN.

"Kung saan ba mas papatok o mas babagay. Ang dami namin kinonsider na mga components.

"Ang ending, GMA ang pinag-decidan namin. I've always been happy naman whenever I do guestings and work with ABS-CBN.

"Kumbaga, wala yun. For me, it's just a network that I chose for the next season ng career ko.

"Wala na sa akin yun kung nasa TV5 ako or ABS-CBN or GMA. Basta may trabaho.

"Okay, Kapuso na ako. Kapuso na ako."

What is the biggest factor that convinced her to say yes to GMA?

"I'm not sure. I'm not really sure. Feeling ko kasi kung sa kabila ako, baka hindi ko pa sila mahabol kung paano ang pacing.

"Kasi siguradong-sigurado na sila na ganito ang timpla. Pasok ka na lang.

"Ako feeling ko, gusto ko yung alam na nila ang timpla nila pero willing pa rin silang umikot-ikot, maglaro ng unti. I feel base sa mga naririnig kong kuwento na as of now, hindi ko pa kaya na ratsada nila doon, iba rin, e. Iba yung culture dun.

"I don't know what it was but I guess when I looked at GMA and when I asked Mama Betchai for her opinion, pareho kaming [inisip], 'Parang mas bagay tayo sa GMA talaga.'

"Hindi namin ma-pinpoint kung ano yung factor. Siguro iyon: may konting gaan na maglaro."

However, she clarified that she could have also found that flexibility if she chose ABS-CBN.

She added: "Feeling ko naman magagawan rin ng paraan sa kabila. Pero dito ako nauwi.

"Mas nag-lean lang kami towards GMA."

Did the talent fee influence her decision regarding the network that she would pick?

"Wala. Kung ano man yung offer, it's more of yung length ng contract, kung ano man ang commitments, wala naman sa presyo.

"Pareho ka namang kikita kahit saan ka pumunta. Kikita rin naman ako sa ABS-CBN."

Which network gave her the biggest offer?

"Alam mo na yun!" she exclaimed. "No. 1 dati si TV5. Ikaw na magsabi kung sino No. 2, No. 3.

"Wala naman sa amin ang price. Dun tayo kung saan tayo magfi-fit in best.

"Naramdaman namin yun na sa GMA talaga."
