Gabbi Garcia on being a Kapuso: "Very thankful, actually, ever since, naman hindi ako pinabayaan ng GMA. I know that purely."

Gabbi Garcia is thankful to GMA-7 since she's now back on track in terms of her television career.

During the first part of 2018, Gabbi had to leave her two shows back then: the drama series Sherlock Jr. and the variety program Sunday PinaSaya.

At one point, it was even rumored that Gabbi would transfer to ABS-CBN, which she later denied.

Now that she is part of two shows, the 19-year-old actress told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) that she is thankful for these new projects given by the Kapuso network.

"Very thankful, actually, ever since, naman hindi ako pinabayaan ng GMA. I know that purely.

"Siguro tamang balanse lang din, after Sherlock, I did a lot for my endorsements tapos nag-magazine shoots din ako so it was just the right balance lang din.

"Ayun, talagang bugbog ako sa taping ngayon. Masaya siyang energy kasi I get to be productive again."

Gabbi will be part of the prime-time teleserye Pamilya Roces and the musical-variety show Studio 7.

She considers Studio 7 as a blessing after leaving Sunday PinaSaya.

"Oo naman, lahat ng trabaho, blessing. Exciting itong Studio 7, maganda dito nakakapagperform kami and we can collaborate din with the directors, kunyari may gusto kaming kantahin or iperform."

When PEP.ph asked if Studio 7 is the reason why she had to leave Sunday PinaSaya, she answered, "Ay hindi, hindi naman, malayo naman ang dahilan."

Why did she leave the Sunday comedy-variety program?

Gabbi explains, "Actually, the reason for me leaving SPS last January or February, tagal na rin, parang almost a year, I had school every Saturday.

"That was the issue kasi di ako nakakapagrehearse, I don't want to be disrespectful naman to all my co-artists to not attend the rehearsals.

"That time kasi, I really want to study so yun, yun yung reason talaga."

But then, she clarified, "Okay kami, okay kami ng SPS, nila Ateng [Rams David, supervising producer], noong mga ibang staff."

As for Sherlock Jr., Ruru Madrid already disclosed in past interviews that the death of Gabbi's character is really included in the story.

PEP.ph spoke to Gabbi during the grand media conference of Studio 7 last Tuesday, October 2, at the 17th floor of GMA Network, Quezon City.

SANG'GRE REUNION

Gabbi recently finished her stint in Victor Magtanggol, which served as a reunion for the Encantadia Sang'gres Glaiza de Castro, Kylie Padilla, and Sanya Lopez.

Gabbi said about this, "Napakasaya, sobrang saya.

"Lahat kami kasi, walang nag-second thoughts sa aming tanggapin yung project.

"Unang-una for Alden [Richards], and magkakasama kaming apat and it's really nice working with them, always naman lagi kung saan kami magkasalubong apat, talagang parang yung dati lang."

For their stint in Victor Magtanggol, the Sang'gres played cosplayers who crossed paths with Victor (Alden) when he had amnesia.
