Regine Velasquez-Alcasid cried as she bid goodbye to GMA-7, her home network for the past 20 years.
The singer-actress gave an emotional farewell message to the Kapuso Network during the 6th anniversary episode of her show Sarap Diva.
Regine thanked GMA executives during the October 13 episode of her cooking show.
"Kay Miss Darling, maraming maraming salamat. Thank you miss Darling [de Jesus] for all the opportunities that you have given me.
"Sila Ma'am Lilybeth [Rasonable], sila Redgie [Magno], all my bosses, siyempre ang aking mga boss talaga, mga top, si Mr. [Felipe] Gozon at saka si Mr. [Gilberto] Duavit.
"I have stayed here for two decades. Maraming maraming salamat po sa tiwalang ibinigay niyo sa akin and for taking good care of me..."
Regine also took this opportunity thank a former GMA-7 executive who transferred to TV5 years ago.
"And most of all, yung second mom ko, si Miss Wilma [Galvante]. Maraming, maraming salamat Ma'am Wilma."
Asia's Songbird paused as tears welled up in her eyes. She expressed her gratitude to the show's director and staff.
"I'm sure hindi ako perfect na katrabaho. I'm sure may mga times na nabubwisit kayo sa akin so pasensiya. Tao lang. Minsan may dinadala but na-appreciate ko kayo.
"I have six years of wonderful memories sa Sarap Diva. I love everyone I worked with here.
"'Yung six years na yun, like I said andami kong natutunan. Nakilala ko lahat. And dito po sa Sarap Diva, talagang family na po kami."
She then reminded viewers to tune in next week for a new chapter of the show.
"I'd like to thank our viewers and say this is not the end. You will continue to see Sarap Diva and see a wonderful show with cooking and laughter."
The singer-actress ended by saying: "All I have is gratitude for GMA. Thank you very, very, very much for everything, for taking good care of me and my whole family."
GMA confirmed the departure of Regine by issuing a statement yesterday, October 13.
