Vice Ganda jokingly modified GMA-7's station ID theme song following the transfer of Regine Velasquez to ABS-CBN.
The former Kapuso star signed a contract with the Kapamilya Network last October 17.
While interviewing Tawag ng Tanghalan contestant Kenneth Evangelista, Vice Ganda mentioned that Regine returned to ABS-CBN.
"Ang balita ko si Regine na ang kakanta ng station ID ng ABS-CBN," said the TV host during the October 18 episode of It's Showtime.
"Ang taray ng version. Narinig ko nga, e."
The ABS-CBN comedian then changed the lyrics of GMA-7's theme song "Kapuso, Anumang Kulay ng Buhay.”
Vice Ganda sang:
"Kapamilya, makulay ang buhay. Kapamilya...
"Sa ABS makulay, sa CBN makulay...Sa ABS, iisa ang kulay ng buhay."
The comedian also referenced the fact that former singers of GMA-7's musical variety show SOP have switched to ABS-CBN.
Vice Ganda quipped: "Abangan niyo po sa Sunday, ang pamagat na po ng ASAP, SOP na talaga!"
Incidentally, Louie Ocampo (who came up with this song) was one of the hurados on Tawag ng Tanghalan. He laughed out loud upon hearing the way Vice Ganda tweaked his composition.
This theme song was first performed by Regine in 2002. Asia's Songbird and Julie Anne San Jose collaborated with each other for the 2012 station ID of the Kapuso Network.
Vice Ganda and Anne Curtis continued interviewing Kenneth, a Metro Manila contender, who became viral in the past for being a "Hottie Driver" in a ride-sharing app.
The comedian then created another version by singing:
"Sa ABS makulay, sa CBN makulay, Kapamilya, iisang kulay ng buhay...Sakay na!"
In 1996, "Sakay Na" was used as the tagline of Sharon Cuneta's commercial for Super Ferry.
