Regine Velasquez on congratulating GMA-7's Sunday PinaSaya: "Hindi porke't sinabi ko na kino-congratulate ko sila dahil mataas ang rating nila, pina-plastik ko sila."

Regine Velasquez said she is genuinely happy that Sunday PinaSaya performed well against ASAP based on AGB Nielsen data.

Asia's Songbird also opened up about the reformatting that will happen to ASAP when she joins the ABS-CBN Sunday variety show.

She talked to the media regarding this topic during her November 4 press conference at the 81 SeiHai restaurant in Quezon City.

"They talked to me personally. Sinabi nila, 'ito na yung magiging concept.' Siyempre, na-stress ako.

"Kasi it's such a big responsibility. Ganun ako, mahilig ako ma-stress talaga.

"But then, I realized na how flattering for me to be part of such a big show. It's been there for 23 years.

"Ako, ngayon lang ako papasok but, you know, all of them are welcoming me with open arms talaga.

"I've worked with all of them, most of them. Sila, they were just happy that I would be part of ASAP. They were very happy."

Will some stars be removed from the show because of the reformatting?

"Actually, hindi ko alam. Mai-stress ako kung may mawala.

"Sana hindi. I feel like I'm still starting...

"After a long time of not working with them, ayoko muna mag-ask ng kung anu-ano kasi nahihiya pa ako.

"Nung pineresent sa akin, parang wala naman sinabi na mawawala.

"I am very flattered with the kind of welcome they gave me and the attention they gave me. Kinu-question ko nga if I'm worthy of such attention.

"Natutuwa kasi binibigyan nila ng importansiya ang mga nagawa ko sa industriya.

"Not that GMA-7 didn't make me feel that way. But it's just nice to be given that kind of importance."

Based on AGB Nielsen NUTAM data, her first appearance on ASAP had a lower TV rating compared to GMA-7's Sunday PinaSaya.

The October 28 of ASAP registered an AGB rating of 4.5% while Sunday PinaSaya got 6.2%.

What is her reaction to this?

Regine answered, "Like I said dun sa Instagram ko, I really am happy for Sunday PinaSaya. I'm happy for them."

The former Kapuso star then opened up about the stiff competition between the two rival TV stations.

"You know, merong network war. I don't know why that is but we are still happy for each other kasi magkakakilala kami lahat.

"Kahit ano pang sabihin ng ibang tao outside our business, our industry, we actually know each other."

She also gave her reaction to those saying that she was being "plastic" or two-faced because she congratulated ASAP's rival show, Sunday PinaSaya.

"Hindi porke't sinabi ko na kino-congratulate ko sila dahil mataas ang rating nila, pina-plastik ko sila.

"It's actually because I know all of them and I really am happy for them. Kilala ko yung director, lahat sila.

"Hindi yun pamamlastik. I'm happy for them na mataas ang rating nila."
