Another tearful reunion happened in the Pinoy Big Brother Otso house, as Star Dreamer Mark Obera moves into the main house.
Mark joined his long-lost sister Apey Obera as the season's first 2-in-1 housemate in the PBB Otso episode aired this Sunday, January 20.
A 2-in-1 housemate is considered only as one housemate, so both Mark and Apey will have the same fate in the house. Both will have to be nominated, evicted, or be the Big Winner together, and split whatever prize they win.
The Mark and Apey tandem is not the first 2-in-1 housemate in the history of the show. Other 2-in-1 housemates include Baron Geisler and his brother Donnie for PBB Celebrity Edition 2, Jai and Joj Agpangan for PBB Teen Edition 4, and Nikko Natividad and McCoy de Leon for PBB Lucky Season 7.
But the unique factor for Mark and Apey's status is that they did not start as 2-in-1 housemates, unlike the others that came before them.
Both Mark and Apey were introduced on January 6, but they were placed in different camps. Mark was in Camp A, while Apey was in Camp B.
There was bit of intrigue in their entrances because the two do not know that they are related. Both share the same father, but they have not seen each other in more than 20 years.
Then Apey became an official housemate on January 8, while Mark stayed in Camp Star Hunt.
The mystery about them was resolved this past week. After winning a comedy task, Apey was able to meet Mark, who tearfully apologized to her for not finding her sooner. Apey also cried a bucket, because she was relieved that her father is still alive. She thought he already passed away because she wasn't able to find him despite her herculean effort.
In Camp Star Hunt, Mark had to take part in a challenge to run an eatery. He was the leader of the Boys Team, and his teammates were Hanie, JC, and Patrick. The leader of the Girls Team, meanwhile, was Mary Grace, and her teammates were Thea, Tori, Marie, and Shawntel.
Mark's team won because they earned P9,039, while Mary Grace's team only earned P5,625.
Kuya himself chose Mark to cross over to the Big Brother house, where he met Apey again.
It was then revealed that the siblings have become an official 2-in-1 housemate.
