After four years of doing TV shows with ABS-CBN, Mylene Dizon returns to GMA-7.
She will be part of the upcoming prime-time series, Sahaya, starring Bianca Umali.
This was announced through an article published on GMANetwork.com last January 29.
According to the article, Sahaya revolves around a Badjao girl who gets separated from her loved ones when she goes to Manila—a place that is entirely different from her hometown.
Sahaya has to learn how to adjust to her new home.
She gets involved in a love triangle with two guys: her childhood friend Ahmad (Miguel Tanfelix) and Jordan (Migo Adecer), a Manila boy.
However, the article did not disclose the role of Mylene in the Kapuso series.
In early January, PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) received a feed that Mylene would be returning to GMA-7 for the upcoming afternoon series, Dragon Lady.
However, the Kapuso Network decided to tap Mylene for Sahaya.
Coincidentally, Mylene's last show in GMA-7 was top-billed by Bianca and Miguel. It was the 2015 rom-com series, Once Upon A Kiss.
This was one of Mylene's Instagram posts with Bianca and Miguel while doing Once Upon A Kiss.
Mylene, a homegrown talent of ABS-CBN, started her showbiz career by being launched as part of Star Circle Batch 2. She was also a cast member of the youth-oriented series, Gimik.
Mylene made a name for herself as a kontrabida when she played the role of Sally in Sa Dulo ng Walang Hanggan (2001-2003).
She first transferred to GMA-7 in 2004, via the prime-time series Narito Ang Puso Ko, starring her former Gimik co-star, Jolina Magdangal.
Her other Kapuso shows include Captain Barbell (2006), Princess Charming (2007), and Dyesebel (2008).
Mylene's last projects with ABS-CBN were Doble Kara (2015-2017) and The Good Son (2017-2018).
Her former co-star, John Estrada, figured in a controversy last year because of an incident that took place on the set of The Good Son. According to a report published by PEP Alerts, Mylene slapped John because of what he said to her.
After their confrontation, John's character was killed off from The Good Son. He transferred to the Kapuso Network in May 2018.
Other cast members of Sahaya include Zoren Legaspi, Ana Roces, Ashley Ortega, Pen Medina, Jean Garcia, and Eric Quizon.
Jasmine Curtis-Smith, Gil Cuerva, and Benjamin Alves will play special roles in the series.
