After more than 30 years, the original female hosts of GMA Supershow had a reunion yesterday, February 3.
Present at the reunion were Dawn Zulueta, Jackie Lou Blanco, Pops Fernandez, Lani Mercado, Mariz Ricketts, Arlene Muhlach, and former actress Rachel Anne Wolfe.
Rachel posted some snapshots of their reunion on her Instagram account.
According to her caption, it was Dawn who organized and spearheaded the reunion held at the Manila House.
She wrote, "GMA Supershow reunion @lanirevilla @dawnzulueta @popsfernandezofficial @marizricketts @arlenemuhlach @mommymaricel @jackielou.blanco #GMAsupershowghels #yesterdaysforeverfriends Thank you Dawn for organizing this. so nice to see all of you!"
Dawn also posted a photo on her Instagram account, where she called the group "Kuya Germs' Ghels."
Kuya Germs is the late TV host and starmaker German Moreno, who was the main host and producer of GMA Supershow.
The ABS-CBN actress wrote in the caption, "It’s been more than 30 years! This is the first of what we believe will be many more reunions with my co-hosts from our beloved Kuya Germs’ #GMAsupershow. We missed the others who couldn’t make it due to schedule conflict, hopefully on our next. Thanks to all my sisters, @rachelannewolfe @jackielou.blanco @mommymaricel @arlenemuhlach @lanirevilla @marizricketts @popsfernandezofficial for making this happen! Jackie Lou called the gathering a "long overdue reunion."
She wrote in her caption, "A Reunion long overdue... A lovely afternoon spent with long time friends... An afternoon that brought back so many wonderful memories... Such a Joy. Some hosts of GMA Supershow absent at the reunion were Gretchen Barretto, Jean Garcia, Raymond Lauchengco, and Richard Reynoso.
GMA Supershow is the Kapuso network's Sunday noontime variety program that aired from 1984 to 1997.
Prior to GMA Supershow, Kuya Germs also hosted its predecessors, Germspesyal and Germside from 1978 to 1984.
GMA Supershow aired its last episode on January 26, 1997 and was replaced by SOP, where Kuya Germs also acted as production consultant.
