Kara Mia, starring Barbie Forteza and Mika dela Cruz, will be aired on GMA-7's first prime-time slot.

Once it airs its pilot episode on February 18, Kara Mia will be taking over the timeslot that will be vacated by Dingdong Dantes and Dennis Trillo's Cain at Abel.

Cain at Abel has announced that it will air its final episode on February 15.

Cain at Abel is currently pitted against ABS-CBN's prime-time series, FPJ's Ang Probinsyano. The Coco Martin-starrer has been airing since September 2015.

In an exclusive interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) during the February 1 press conference of Inagaw na Bituin, GMA Vice President for Entertainment Lilybeth Rasonable confirmed that Kara Mia will be placed in the first slot.

From July 2016 until present, GMA-7 has been placing action-themed teleseryes in that timeslot.

For this reason, the GMA executive believes that Kara Mia is a breath of fresh air.

Rasonable said, "It's so exciting for us kasi it's very different from what is being offered now on primetime on the first slot, but they should take a look."

She is also happy with the performance of lead stars Barbie and Mika, who play sisters with a condition called Disprosopus or craniofacial duplication, a congenital defect wherein they have two faces but share the same body.

"Magugulat sila, at saka itong si Barbie and Mika, hay naku, makikita mo talaga kung gaano sila kagaling na artista, kasi ang hirap ng ginagawa nila and yet they are performing with flying colors.

"We've seen the pilot, talagang palakpakan. Palakpakan ang mga tao, mga nakakapanuod."

After Kara Mia was first launched through an omnibus plug, it has spawned viral memes on social media.

While the GMA executive is happy with people's response to the show, she admitted that doing a concept like Kara Mia is risky.

She elaborated, "We are happy that people are receiving it well. It's so memeable, it has gone viral so many times, na hindi naman namin sinasadya.

"Of course, when doing projects like that, you take a risk because people might find it just creepy and baka ma-turn off.

"But because it's been done so well and the artists are so good, natutuwa ang mga tao. Tuwang-tuwa kami."
